Look out for Pablo Carreno Busta.

Not saying this just because he beat Med. Saying this because he was absolutely scary for the stretches of the match.

Don't exactly know what this will result in, most probably a straight set loss to Djokovic here and a damper US HC swing, but this med match and Hamburg final were Godly from him.

He has talked about working on changing his game and working hard and it shows.

Kudos to him.

In before Khachanov takes him out.

Medvedev during the match said in Russian: "Clusterf*ck! (Closest analog) He never played like this..."

Someone needs to upload the highlights of first 6-7 games.

I swear there were 4-5 rallies of 20+ length were Medvedev forced PCB to keep hitting lines 6-7 times. And the guy did that. Without missing. Crazy stuff.

Med defended as well as he can. PCB kept going and didn't miss a shot.

Our lord and savior PCB isn’t even in his final form  He’s saving that for when he beats Joker at the USO again, bud.

Now you’re backtracking. If he’s not beating Karen, why should anyone look out for him?

Embarrassing.

What am I backtracking from exactly??

It’s implied in your original statement that PCB would win against Khachanov, otherwise it would have made zero sense talking about a potential loss to Djokovic.

You went ahead of yourself. Accept the L on your forehead and move on.

Lol. I didn't mean it that way but whatever.

PCB played brilliant yesterday, won Hamburg.

Nobody beats a Medvedev defending to the best of his limits in a rally. Not even Djokovic. PCB did it and I was impressed.

Maybe he read this and forgot he’s playing Khachanov first.

PCB has been underestimated since he hauled his sorry ass out of challengers and into the weak era. I think he has more potential to be unleashed, and looks to have the right mentality to use it if he gets there.

He needs some technical tweaks to his strokes to loosen them up a bit. The footwork and balance are excellent, he’s in position on a lot of balls and is moving his body weight into a lot of them. But a lot of power is being lost through the swing. There’s at least two things: not having enough core rotation (worst on the FH but also evident on the BH) and not enough of the racquet head driving through the ball (similar to rotation, it’s worse on the FH). I think he might also be holding the racquet too tight, but you can’t be sure of that without some experimentation.

I’m not a full-on serve doctor but there’s definitely more there too.
