Looking to try new strings Clash 100 tour

I am currently playing with the clash 100 tour and looking to try new strings any suggestions would help! I used hyperg and confidential strung at 50 lbsin the past but would always have elbow and arm pain! I was looking into trying Alu power or alu power rough. Any thoughts?

Tier 1 ghost wire is very soft. Im playing with Head Lynx Tour right now and it feels comfortable to me and I'm dealing with some forearm tendinitis myself.

Both of those are underpowered but soft.

It sounds like a multifilament or natural gut is what you want. The only thing you'll give up is extra spin, but gain power and arm comfort.

Do you cut out your poly strings after 15-20 hours if you don’t break them earlier? If you keep playing with them after they go ‘dead’, you’ll have more and more vibrations going to your arm. The TWU strings database can give you a comparison of the stiffness of various strings. I think ALU Power is stiffer than HyperG. But, it would be interesting to know how long you are playing with your poly strings as I have not heard of anyone at my club getting injuries while using the Clash as long as they cut out poly strings when they go dead.

Hello,

I have tried many strings in my Clash Tours, both in full bed and hybrid. My favorite thus far has been a hybrid of ADV Matrix in the mains at 48# and Pro's Pro Red Devil in the crosses at 46#. I can play this combo for around 12-15 hours before it breaks or dies. It is very comfortable for a full bed of poly and provides excellent spin and control. It is also rather economical, especially if you string your own racquets.

Sorry for not being specific I recently switched to the clash 100 after using the ezone 98

Yes, should be. You can always continue with HyperG and even try lower tension if you want. Or try a softer polyester string.

I currently use RPM Blast on my Clash 100 at 54lbs. My first set was Luxilon Smart at the recommended 44lbs, but in South Africa at high altitude everything just flew to the fences. I love the RPM Blast strings, and experience zero discomfort (I have a sensitive elbow and shoulder). Also moving from Wilson Sensation to the RPM's, I am easily getting double the kick off my serve.

I got my Clash at USTA in Orlando. I tried a bunch of different setups since they have a ton of demos. Their pro stringers had one set at
Luxilon Element 1.25 (bronze - mains) and Wilson Sensation 16g (natural color - crosses). Strung at at 48 & 50.

That's what I bought and have restrung a few times now. Though I might up the tension next time, or at least in 1 of my 2.

I switched from a Pure Aero with HyperG to using a Clash due to arm problems as well. I picked up some Kirschbaum xplosive speed during their sale, it is a pretty soft poly with decent spin. I tried Confidential but found that I was just not getting much power out of it, I probably should have strung it a bit lower. I'm currently trying out HyperG in the main with Synth Gut in the crosses, it's working well but doesn't feel as good as the xplosive speed. This hybrid might work well for you since you want the HyperG feel but a little softer. There's also HyperG soft, I just bought a set and will be trying it out soon.

In my clash tour I play Hyper G 17 in the mains and Tourna syngut armor in the crosses. The syngut softens the hyper g just enough that it never bothers my elbow. The syngut armor is slick enough that the strings snap back for most of the life of the poly.

I’ve tried many combinations of strings and keep coming back to this one.

Arm pain in a Clash is rough. I'd go with an 18G string and up the tension 3-5lbs to start as it will lose more tension than 16 or 17g string(usually). If you want more power as well, then I'd try the same tension.
It won't last as long, but better your arm last than the string.
I switch to 18g in the winter. This year I think I am gonna stay with it all year to save my arm and shoulder so I can stick with poly.

Thumbs up for Red Devil cross.
