Losing from MP on serve -it's what Fed would have wanted

On Roger's final ever match as a professional tennis player it was supremely fitting that we saw so many moments of his career condensed into one match -the early dominance over younger opponents turning into a struggle to keep up, the post match tears similar to the end of the 2009 AO final, Djokovic quietly keeping his composure as a stadium of Roger fans lose theirs. But the most fitting replay from his greatest hits was Roger losing from match point up on his own serve. It was the perfect way to go. The tennis gods must have arranged it to be so.

Don't be angry at his opponents for spoiling the party. It's what Roger would have wanted.

I'm honestly extremely surprised it's taken you this long to make a thread on this.

I mean this happened over 10 hours ago.

Prime Spencer Gore would've had a thread up 5 seconds after the match point.

Sad to see TT's finest in such a sharp decline.
Maybe he'll be consistent and chalk it up to finally meeting real competition and getting exposed by better trolls.

Are you suggesting this is a proper nail in the coffin?
Good point, hard to deny that anyway.

One of the greatest and most influental athletes in sports ever played his last points yesterday and had a epic farewell like that and you feel the need to make a thread like this mocking him. Sad.
The key words here are "sport" and "played his last points". No one died. Roger is still with us. He's still a billionaire. He's still got a family who love him. He's just not going to play in the tour anymore. Like countless greats before him.

I allowed a decent amount of time for those who live at home with their mothers to grieve, before making a light hearted thread to undercut the rather pompous solemnity. You need to stop taking sport -and yourself -so seriously.

We live in a soft world, i didnt feel this thread mocked him, just you were seeing some simbolisms with his career

We live in a soft world
The world is now full of precious, immature idiots without any inkling of a sense of humour about anything. Sadly, the internet has given them a worldwide megaphone for their childish demands and even more tragically they appear to have taken control of society. Hopefully, like all previous examples of mass hysteria, this will eventually pass.

Another Fed record possibly standing the test of time. Most singles matches lost with MP.

As a fan I'm wondering if the Maestro is trolling me, or honestly has not learned a thing over his career, and I can't tell which is worse.

I think you are optimistic - perhaps dangerously so.

You can’t try to be cool even when Fed is retiring…?

Each time I see one of your obnoxious posts I say to myself,
"He can't possibly outdo himself after this one."

And sure enough, I wait a day or so and another one comes along. :(
