Luxilon ALU Power Rough without any writing on it!?

I got a set from a friend of Luxilon ALU Power Rough and noticed that it had no writing on it at all.
All the Luxilon strings I've ever had always had writing on them, quite frequent too, but this one on the whole 12.5m had nothing!
It is translucent but plays like garbage.
Fake?

In the 2nd picture, I can see the word Luxilon on the 2nd cross string at the top left corner.

Yeah, the 2nd picture, that's the one from my own reel, the authentic ALU.
It's the 1st picture ALU that' questionable...

when comparing them, it seems like the indents/cut-outs are different. color shade is similar.

Well if there is no writing on it, it's definitely a counterfeit string. Probably that cheap Chinese crap you can buy on e-bay for like $60 a reel.

ALU in its early days (pre-2005ish) had no printing on the string. I can't remember if I ever saw ALU Rough with no printing

Didn't know that. Maybe the guy had a 15 year old reel The label on the reel looked like the newer label though.
Played weird though. Very stiff, no Luxilon feeling, lasted much longer than usual before flattening out in a gut/poly.

Yeah, definitely fake then. This is the packaging I'm referring to: Old packaging. For packs, they weren't sealed like they are now and always included a circular sticker of "played by" or "used by" a touring pro.
