FEDERER-ALMAGRO only 5 matches and last one in 2007 LOL how possible is that? http://www.tennisexplorer.com/mutual/almagro/federer/
Federer owns Almagro but looks like Almagro gave him troubles in some of the matches

NADAL-TIPSAREVIC  only 3 matches http://www.tennisexplorer.com/mutual/nadal/tipsarevic
nothing much to expect though

MURRAY-ISNER met only 3 times, Murray won the 3 with 1 tight match at the US open http://www.tennisexplorer.com/mutual/murray/isner/
interesting match up to watch on hardcourt I guess, to be see how a big returner can kill Isner's serve.

Nadal vs Federer at USO or 3 of the hard courts masters.

+ DJOKOVIC/JANOWICZ, never happened http://www.atpworldtour.com/Tennis/Players/Vo/F/Filippo-Volandri.aspx?t=mf

”I hate pretending. I’m always my self, I imitate no one, I don’t play. Emotions guide me. When I’m angry I show it. I don’t have idols. I used to like Sampras style and Safin’s attitude. Djokovic is a false one, he just likes to show off and play."

indeed, I wanted this match to happen at the french this year, would have been curious to see how it could have turned out.

There was a good six months in 2013 where Ferrer was playing career-best tennis and Fed was struggling. If they had played during that time, especially on clay, I think Ferrer would have won.

Yeah, I brang it up that Federer and Almagro haven't faced since 2007, a couple days ago, when there was a discussion about Fed vs spanish players. It sounds unreal.....

Nadal-Tsonga at the slams since the AO 2008 straight sets demolition.

It has been 6.5 years and counting and it is a little strange that the two haven't met at slams considering Tsonga has met the other members of the big 4 quite regularly. Every time Tsonga is in red hot form, he usually lands in Fed or Djoker's slam draw.

Back when Nico was playing good I always hoped he would get put in Federers quarter cause I thought he could give him a run

I was thinking about this match up back in 2012, thinking that I really wanted to see it again... I would like to see them play at this years USO. I think Almagro would be too much for Fed on clay in 2015. I think a hardcourt meeting would be nice.

If Almagro is on and can hold it together mentally I think he is capable of beating anyone on tour except maybe Djokovic-I don't like that match up for him. It would be cool if he and Federer met at the USO but I doubt that would go well with Nico coming off if an injury. Do you even know if he is playing?

I thought so, now I am not so sure.....

Not sure how any of these are surprising. Nico fed played 5 times, what is surprising about this?

He was in red hot form at RG last year and got thumped by Ferrer in the SF.

Federer vs Ferrer at Slams

wow, didn't realize that. That's just crazy given how long Ferrer has been in the top 5-8 bracket and given they've met 15 times.
A bit unlucky for Fed given his h2h vs. Ferrer compared to his h2h vs. say Berdych or Tsonga.

fed vs Baby fed. only one match so far. on the other Hand dimitrov played nadal 5 times winning no match but winning a set in 5 out of 5 matches.

I wouldn't be calling Fed unlucky with his slam draws mate...

No he didn't, Rafa beat him 6-2 6-2 in Rome this year.

Of course you wouldn't. And neither did I in general - I specified it to him never meeting Ferrer in the quarters as opposed to Tsonga, Berdych and, to add two more, Söderling and Delpo

Federer was more unlucky than Nadal. He had to meet Tsonga, Delpo more often than Rafa both in slam and other tournaments. He never got the luxury of facing Ferrer instead of these guys

Federer and Ljubicic in GS.

Murray and Hewitt. They played only once in 2006. Since then they never played in an official match

I find surprising:

I believe Agassi and Henman only played each other four times and none of those at a major event.

On the womens side, I am always surprised Henin and Mauresmo only played each other fifteen times. It was a great rivalry and we knew it was something special as both players possessed athletic ability, superior volleying skills and a great one hand backhand. We may never see this on the WTA again, two players in the top 5 with those skills.

Yeah Delpo was real tough AO09, way tougher than Verdasco

Poor Federer

Yes that's a bit of a surprise that Nadal and Tsonga never met again in grand slam.
They did play another best of 5 match but it was on clay in Spain (Davis cup 2011) no surprise with the final result 3-0 Nadal.

Maybe because of this thread they'll meet at the US open in 2 weeks !

like the green mile said they haven't played each other since 2007 and that's surprising since Almagro was going deep in tournaments in 2012-2013 so they could have easily met. Yet he never happened.

I always thought Roddick-Nadal was a relatively rare matchup, considering that they were both at the top of the game from 2005-2010, a pretty long period.

Why? It's not like Almagro is regularly advancing to the late stages of majors and masters.

Almagro earns quite a few of his points in SA far away from the big dogs. He rarely get's to the 4th round of a non-clay major iirc - and hasn't done much at the FO either.

Murray and Del Potro. Those guys meet more between Delpo's US Open win and Murray's, and I have very strong feelings that the Tower of Tandil would be (when fit) the number 4 guy.

Federer vs Ferrer at Slams

Of course. This is not by accident. Things like this happen, since Ferrer was always drawn in Nadal's half, while Federer in Djokovic's (or Djokovic in Federer's - depending on which decade are we talking about - this one or last).

Oh well in that case Tsonga wouldn't have been much threat to Nadal anyway. Maybe WIM11, but I'd still fancy Nadal to win that hypothetical encounter.

Totally. I'd also fancy Nadal to win hypothetical encounters at Wimby vs journeymen and servebots ranked in triple digits over the last 3 years...

Oh wait.....
