Medvedev will make Quarters

Looking at the draw Medvedev should make the quarters. If he meets Tsitsipas he will lose but ive a feeling Tsitsipas wont get that far. Krajonovic i think may take him out or Korda.
Id fancy Medvedev to beat anyone bar Tsitsipas in his quarter so that means a semi final v Thiem/Zverev/Ruud. I am going for a Medvedev v Ruud semi.
Top half should be Nadal v Djokovic. So basically the final is a round early.

As for the threats to Nadal before Djokovic, Rublev has a tough draw and Sinner has a tricky 3 rounds with experienced players.
As for Djokovic he has some dangerous floaters in there. He should be ok but its not the cake walk people are saying.
As for Federer i feel he is losing to Koeffer in 3rd round. Koeffer or Berrettini to play Djokovic in QF.
To be blunt we are where we were 6 months ago. Nadal v Djokovic determines the winner unless one or both have shockers or get injured.

His quarter is the weakest by far and there is no one really all that dangerous. I think his biggest test will be Bublik, if he can get past him I think he can at least get to the 4th round. I don’t see him making it past Garin though so I think 4th round will be the end of the line for him.

I think it's possible he could get to the 4th round if he gets past Bublik, as well. That said, he could also lose to just about anyone. Total crapshoot predicting anything.

Bublik is the perfect instructor for the I Hate Tennis tutorial that Meddie enrolled in prior to clay season just to brush up on his on-court histrionics and failures:

I mean, he is not the complete spud on clay that everyone here is making out. In 2019 he made the SFs at Monte Carlo by beating Tsitspas and Djokovic, then backed it up with a final at Barcelona beating Nishikori.

But they are certainly the exceptions rather than the rule. He may break his duck at RG, but I am not sure I would back him to win 4 matches in a row.

2019 was peak Med though. He’s not going to get any better than that

No, on clay he is as useless as teats on a bull. The Nishikori victory you mentioned from two years ago was his last win on the dirt until he won the one match in Madrid. He is now 1-8 since then.

Nobody who beats Djokovic at Monte Carlo is useless on clay

I don’t rate his chances of a QF but he is a lot more capable than his RG record indicates

G’day, mate!

That Joe Kovic match was two years ago. Starting with his exit loss from the next tournament he is 1-8 with the “1” in the 1-8 happening two years after your cited feather in his cap.
His play on clay remains as useless as the teats on a bull. His honest emotions about his uselessness remains priceless entertainment.

Will the next tall tale you endorse be that Thiem will be a grass threat at Wimby’21 because he beat fedr at Stuttgart’16?

What exactly are you saying here? That Medvedev won't win a match at RG?

He has an easy enough draw. I think Bublik is a bit temperamental, too. Not guaranteed to upset Meddy.

Are you insinuating that Medvedev got an easy quarter because of his sponsors and not because he is the No.2 seed?
Just raised awarness how sponsors may react to their (singed under their logo) players' performances. We sure do not know pro players' agreements with their supporters well, but I would like to think that we may contemplate here on the board how such a competitive environment as the one in tennis creates grounds for actions to elevate the sponsors' recognition. Would you not do anything you could to parade the horse that you have bet on?

He has a nice draw for it, but I highly doubt he'll win a single match. If he does, he has to get through Opelka or Munar in the 3rd round. I don't think he'll make it.

Bet you feel silly
Bet you love your few and far between “I told you so!” minutes, pettyman.

Good grief, I’m so crushed for expressing such a wrong opinion that was based on facts leading into this tournament. Crucify me and let pettyman drive the nails in my palms for my offense.
