what's with these celebrities having twins... is it just coincidence or is there some medical intervention here that promotes one to have twins?

And a sweet thread about the birth of the world #1's babies is littered with the same, boring arguments from the same, boring posters. Get over yourselves just once please?

There is no need to be rude. That is inappropriate and uncalled for. This section is for pro tennis. For players' gear there is a separate section. For non-sport related issues there is "Odds and Ends". I can't believe that you need to be educated about this.
BP is completely right. You joined in April and are already trying to be a know it all to BP who is a veteran. We discuss all kind of info pertaining to pro players. This is the "general" discussion part of the forum

Thats 2 more arrogant SOB's, who cry when they lose, and dont even give their opponents credit and walk around with their nose up in the air and get 15 printed on their clothes before they even win slams LOL. YIKES.. Hopefully they dont run for politics

You're a disgrace to Sampras and his fans!!!

There was a thread a/b Nadal's parents divorce, I didn't see you trolling in that one. And you claim to be objective...

Yeah I know, I just mentioned that earlier. This is the "General pro player dicussion" meaning we can discuss anything relating to current pro players. So a pro player, federer, just became a dad and we're all discussing it.

Luckily Sampras himself is 1000x more classy then his "fans" like GameSampras. I'm sure he'll text a hearty congrats to Roger.

Myla Rose & Charlene Riva = the next dominant GOAT-forces of the WTA in the 2030s...

Just a little fyi for anyone interested, the names mean:

Myla - Merciful (English)
Rose - Rose, obviously (English)

Charlene - Free (English)
Riva - Maiden (Hebrew)

and

Federer - occupational name for a trader in feathers or quill pens, or an upholsterer (Swiss, German and Jewish)

Nice bit of info there, thanks.

You wouldn't be the first to think it, hasn't it been stated in a few other threads? From what I've read in older threads since being a member, I can see why this might well be the case and agree with you.

Anyhow, I agree that this must indeed be Federer's best year. I wonder how it does indeed affect his playing the rest of the year. Early days yet....

Nah 2006 is his best year because it's ALL about 92-5!:confused: jk 2009 is now THE YEAR OF THE FEDERER for sure!

I love the names Myla & Charlene. Does aren't 2 names I've ever heard on the WTA. Roger as usual is innovative!

I think their beautiful and tennis334 mentioned the meanings as well:

Rose - Rose, obviously (English)

Charlene - Free (English)
Riva - Maiden (Hebrew)

I'd be inclined to think if Federer is dead set on getting a 16th Grand Slam, it will be awfully easy for him, from a parenting standpoint. Hes one of the richest athletes in the world, so I'm sure he can afford two hotel rooms if the kids are travelling - which I doubt because they're so young. If not, he can take a few weeks off to come to the US and pay to have the kids taken care of by a Nanny so Mirka can relax.

While these might be some the best times to spend with his kids, I'm sure hes also set on finishing the season strong, maintaining the number 1 ranking, and using this season as a launching point to future seasons.

Great news! Big congrats to Fed,very glad for him and Mirka.
how could you congratulate the man for being arrogant enough to
have twins? They are arrogant just like they're father. Yet more of these Federer "creatures" have stepped on the planet(gamesampras)

Hmmm...I think the first 0 - 6 months are a tad more tedious than the time that follows as a parent, but that's just my opinion - don't flame me there!
However, as Roger holds the French, this may well be his best (possibly last) opportunity to go for holding all 4 GSs at once....?

Wow, congrats to the Feds.

Agree that topic should be merged. But where to put it? Fed is a current player and it is not a result. Or is it? Should there be a spoiler alert for those who taped the birth for later viewing?

Blake has a lot more class than you do, obviously. You could learn a thing or two.

Gloryhunter. This guy feels as though he has 14 slams, just b/c he cheers for Pete. What a joke. I actually like the guy I root for, and care about more than a number to live vicariously through.

Oh, wow. Congratulations to Roger and Mirka, then! This is great news for their family and as happy as his tennis achievements have made him, he is in for quite the delight being the family man he seems to be. All the best to the Federer family!

13 more kids to go?

I don't think Mirka could stand the strain...
