Mixed Results Disgarded for 3-Strikes DQ?

I heard the most unusual thing.

A 3.5 woman and her 2.5 male partner are going to nationals in 6.0 mixed. He is self-rated. In addition to 6.0 mixed, he played 3.0 men's. He won one doubles match and lost a singles match at 3.0. I don't know him and don't know how he plays, although his female mixed partner told me she thinks he truly is a 2.5.

Anyway, it occurred to me that there would be a very easy way to sandbag in mixed, if one were so inclined. Step One: Self-rate too low. Step Two: Join an adult team and play one match, which might or might not generate a strike. Step Three: Play mixed and dominate. If one's mixed results don't count if the player also plays adult league, isn't this something of a loophole?

Is that how mixed DQ works?

I suggest skipping step 2 entirely if a mixed championship is the sandbagger's dream.

The only problem with this plan is that you have to play with girls. Eww, cooties.

Well if the player is only playing MXD, he will get a "M" Rating and still be DQable for the next league season because a "M" is not much different than a Self-rate.

You can't get dynamically DQd in mixed so simply self-rating too low and playing is all you need to do. Playing adult makes no difference (at least in the southern section) because our adult league is played in the spring.

Well . . . The female player in question is very strong and perfectly capable of carrying a guy in 6.0 mixed (she has a big serve and the hardest groundies of any 3.5 woman) and is honorable. If she says he's 2.5, I believe her.

Really? I don't think that is correct. I believe 3-strikes DQ can happen if you only play mixed.

I have seen some really, really odd mixed only rating, usually because a husband and wife want to play together (e.g., former semi-pro playing at 4.5 to partner with 3.5 spouse).
