More new website insanity

So I come to read the reviews on a few shoes. Instead of fixing what was broke you now have 3 different web pages for shoes.

You took away the simple line of text with each brand model (Barricade/Ubersonic/Defiant Generation/... ) that you clicked on to be taken directly to it and replaced them with a dropdown "categories" (because making the user click more is what this design is all about) and then boxes of describing each "category" which you will have to click to scroll if there's more than 4 models).
Except some shoes have no dropdown category and no descriptive boxes and no simple line of text. None of it.
And then there's the one shoe that gets the full treatment. Dropdown, descriptive boxes and TWO views, grid and list. And why did Head warrant this extra attention? Who knows.
Why is this not a template page where you put in the info and it populates? Are you doing these pages individually?

Why do the same models but different colors of shoes get treated differently? I click on a shoe to read the review but no "TW Review" is there. Ok, it hasn't been reviewed. I check out another color of the same model and voila, a "TW Review" is there. So it has been reviewed. Am I just supposed to guess which color to click on to get to a review?

And exactly why is there a "Read more" under Fit Details? Seriously, we have yet another click so we can read two more lines. It's just ridiculous.

Why is a category in racquets and shoes and apparel the models of the different brands but in bags the category is "brand" or "designer" even though brands have different models of bags?

Where are the breadcrumbs?

Why do shoes get different "Fit details"? Why do some get "Surface" and "Durability guarantee"? If the "Surface" is "hard", "clay" or "all" how can there be shoes with no listing? If "Durability guarantee" is "yes" or "no" how can there be shoes with no listing?

Why do "Fit details" sometime show 1 line, sometimes 2, sometimes 3... before you have to click "Read more"? Is there some ridiculous design that says you get so many lines down the page and that's it? You have to click to "Read more" even though there's lots more scrolling below it?

One of two things has happened. You either hired a company that has no idea what they're doing or you did this in house and you have no idea what you're doing.

This is a juicy one the website people need to look at.
I had a cart yesterday with some stuff in it, but I got pulled away for work stuff.
Then a few hours later I get (wait for it) .... AN ORDER CONFIRMATION.
I had the browser on another desktop (I separate work / youtube / shopping) so there's no way I clicked thru the checkout.
But sure enough, everything in my cart was ordered.

I just this AM (0800 pacific) went back and found the tab and the cart still showed 20 items in it. I was on an apparel page looking for some extra Fila shorts to maybe add to the order, I explicitly remember that, and that's the page I was on.
But then the page auto-refreshed and the cart count whent from "20" to "0", which reflects the fact that the order was submitted.

That's just loco.

Perhaps the new website employs machine learning to predict what you will be doing next and then carries out the predicted action for you before you actually do it.

Did your credit card or payment method get billed for the order though?

Tennis warehouse is clearly going through changes/problems. The great employees who still work there and contribute on these forums probably hate it. Hopefully things get worked out.

i placed a large order this morning and still got charged for shipping. there are usually two free shipping options to CA, but none of them were free. an email has been sent asking to correct this, but we'll see because not all of my inquiries to TW have been getting responses

And why is that? Expecting a certain level of professionalism just a step too far?
Nah. I agree that some of the mentioned shouldn't happen but from my perspective if someone writes that he had to order from another store just because the website was down for 1 evening that's a bit too much for me.

You feel comfortable saying that without knowing the circumstances? For all you know he needs something by Monday and was ready to pay for overnight shipping.

"All fall goods" by Monday? Talk about waiting till the last second to order.
I don't feel comfortable reading whining about every little detail on a free message board the store is providing.
Then again, a client has the right to express his disappointment.

If I recall the guy said he "had to" so I'm taking him at his word. I don't know his circumstances so until I do I'll not judge. Maybe you're right, mabye not. But hey, that's priceless that you don't feel comfortable reading about whining as you whine about reading about whining.

So, the shoe pages STILL have 3 different layouts.

Under Men's Shoes is a "Shoe reviews" which takes you to a bunch of shoes. Click on one and you're taken to the review. Makes sense.
But if you click on Related Categories on some shoe model pages (and only some mind you) there's a "Men's Tennis Shoe reviews" and you click it to be taken to a bunch of shoes. Click on one and it takes you to the description of the shoe, not the review at all. Because "clicks".

Speaking of "Related Categories", there's no ryhme or reason. Each shoe has a different "Related Categories" that is beyond me how they're related. Why does Head Sprint Pro 3.0 Dress Blue/Neon have Chris E's racquet and Mark B's racquet and Tony L's shoes in "Related Categories"? You got me. I've not come across any other shoe that has those but then again they're all different with no apparent relation to the shoe the page is on.

How long has this been up now? What's the plan here? Just hope people stop noticing stuff and leave it in this amateurish state?

Since you're "monitoring" my rants, let me give you some advice. Put up the old web site until this is ready to go live. Hire a QA person to make sure it is.
I've been looking at a lot of shoes and it's just mind blowing that I get to this page or that page and think "what the h... is this?". Presenting confusion is no way to run a business. This "patch as you go" is no way to run a business.
