Most Impressive Grand Slam Trophy

After seeing the ceremony yesterday, I was thinking which of the four Grand Slam trophies were the most impressive? They all have their own characteristics and uniqueness, but if you had to choose one trophy for your mantle, not influenced by which tournament is more prestigious or which tournament you like the best, which trophy would you choose?

US Open then Wimbledon, but it's reaaally close! I like the simpler look, and the AO trophy is probably the one I like the least.

Nice thread!
I was thinking the same thing a couple of days back.

I think both Wimbledon & USO trophy are the prettiest. While Wimbledon trophy looks more Royal because of the Golden colour & Pineapple on the top, the USO trophy looks a beautiful piece of Silverware! I find the shape and the handles of USO one a bit more aesthetic.

Then comes the RG Cup, which looks really classy as well with the small handles shaped like Wings of a Swan!

The AO Cup looks a bit dull IMO. The AO Women's Trophy looks much better and elegant.

But I've noticed one thing. That outside of Slams, the lesser the prestige of a tournament, the better looking it's trophy is! :p I guess it's kind of over compensation they try to do.
For eg. the Acapulco, Doha, and Dubai trophies are much better than say...Indian Wells and Cincinnati trophies.

I'd have Wimbledon as no 1..no home bias from me then.. its golden sheen lights up in the summer sun when held aloft.

the other 3 are excellent as well though. :)

there is some gold in the Wimbledon trophy but its not 'solid gold'.

Well the W trophy is simbolic. It shows that W represents the golden standard of tennis. So i like it.

The RG trophy also looks impressive. I don't know why but it looks good on Nadal. It is like the trophy is made for him. I don't know but this is jut the way i feel :)

The others do not impress me so much but it is nice to have them

1. Wimbledon, because it's a cup and is the only one that is gold. I like gold cups!

2. US Open, because it's also a cup albeit 'only' silver!

Joint 3: French Open and Australian Open. They both look more like punch bowls IMO!

:)

Forgot to post my own list.

1. Wimbledon. Hard to beat that gold trophy. And I've always been wondering why it has a pineapple on the top.

2. Australian Open. I think it's beautiful. I wish I could see it up close. Neat design.

3. French Open. Kinda bland.

4. U.S. Open. Cheap looking. And I've seen the lid fall off several times. Looks like it's really really light.

I actually like the French Open trophy the most, followed by the Australian Open. Wimbledon is classy, but I don't seem to like the gold very much. But agree that the US Open cup seems blah

I think the Australian Open women's trophy looks better than the men's.

Agreed. I think the Queens Club trophy is ridiculously big. That one makes it look like you just won the "Planet Earth Open".

Lol...it didn't land on his foot by any chance? The bottom part is definitely heading in that direction! :)

I think it got a bit of his feet. Still, he was in Mallorca the next day to play the event there. He won that too :)

I guess he was lucky. He could have been a poster boy advertising the terrible dangers of winning small tournaments!
