MSV Focus Hex or Volkl Cyclone?

Better string as a main (Gosen OG Sheep Micro 1.22mm white cross), MSV Focus Hex 1.18mm or Volkl Cyclone 1.20mm?

The reason I ask is because my wife is going to give me one of my three Dunlop AeroGel 4D 200 Tour racquets for Christmas. That leaves me with two to play with until after Christmas. I know I want to be trying the Solinco Tour Bite 1.20 before Christmas (been waiting to try this string for a while). That leaves either the Volkl or Cyclone for her to give me for Christmas. I figure I want the better of the two to go head to head against the Tour Bite to start with.

Why such thin gauges? You're going to need control with that boom-boom stick you've bought, because once you start swinging, you're not stopping. If it were me, I'd be going for at least a 17 / 16L gauge over an 18.

The two occasions I've used Cyclone 18, I've broken it within the hour, and that was in a 18x20 6.1, which should be a less stressful racquet for strings than your 16x19 200 Tour. Cyclone 18 doesn't seem like a very durable string.

I tried MSV and not Cyclone so I didn't vote. I think Focus Hex is a great poly string, especially for the price, so you probably wouldn't go wrong either way. Maybe next time you should restring your wife's racquet with the red or white Focus Hex.

Cyclone is a great string. Didn't like the 18 though. I'd go with 17 and/or 16. Msv isn't bad either, but the cyclone is a great all around performer, especially when ou hybrid it with a syn gut.

Assuming you're not dropping your RHS, there's going to be noticeably more give in the stringbed with that hefty SW. Personally, I think I'd trade any nominal increase in spin for greater control and consistency of response from the stringed in a beefy open patterned stick like that. Horses for courses, I guess.
