Nadal was so insecure about himself in 2009 that he needed to beat up on the handicapped champion to make himself feel better. One bad year and Rafa goes up and beats the physically challenged...lets all be thankful he had a successful 2010 otherwise it could've been dangerous.

Have to mention that Esther Vergeer is definitely a GOAT; her records speak for itself.

I had a chance to watch her at the 2007 US Open. She is that good of an athlete.

i don't know why several replies to my second (silly) comment. Seeing Rafa play her, really touched me. Its great of him to give her such a special moment.

absolutely. She hasn't lost a singles match since 2003! Most dominant player in any professional sport in history.

I predict they cure paralysis with stem cells in the next 5 years and she wins the US open in the ladies division!

Also it is awesome to see how people can overcome any adversity with their love of tennis and make the best of the situation (the real reason for the thread). And how Rafa is a great ambassador to the sport. On the other hand I just couldn't resist making a good Nadal joke (I do love my trolling)

Don;t blame the mods. Federer personally called and said his image of being the Greatest Ever was being tarnished by said tread and "please delete tread asap."

Wow, am just amazed on how classless so many posters on here are. And I'm sorry but physical disability isn't a joke, unlike the attitude of many posters in this thread.

I think it's great that Nadal took time out of his busy schedule to hit with her. Just another example of how great a person he is. I may vote for Federer to beat him when they play but they are both class acts.

And as for the *******s in this thread, I got news for you, she is the number 1champion in wheelchair tennis, and as another said her record speaks for itself, and am sure that she would spank these ******* posters in a match.

Nobody is joking about her or her disability. If anything everyone on here is being supportive of her and her talent as a player.

The original joke was that Nadal's confidence was so bad he needed to play someone who is physically handicapped to get some confidence back. Obviously I am kidding, I know he and her were hitting together for a charity fundraiser. I think it was awesome that they both hit together
