“Chinese don’t sit on benches while eating but squat like Europeans do when they relieve themselves out in the leafy woods. All this occurs quietly and demurely. Even the children are spiritless and look obtuse.” .. “It would be a pity if these Chinese supplant all other races. For the likes of us the mere thought is unspeakably dreary.”

The Nadal is sooo unlucky! The poor b*gger....injuries derailed his career.
Del Potro agrees.

I'd just like to add one fact:
Year in which Nadal won his first slam - 2005.
Year in which Nadal won his last slam - 2019.
Year in which Nadal will win his last slam (obviously RG) - 2023.
Years in between first and last slam - 18.
Record for longest winning streak and most durable in ATP history....goes to Nadal.

There are 4 slams per year. There is a tourny every week somewhere. Tennis has seen an exponential growth over the last 20 years in training and equipment (mostly strings and training) rackets not so sure. I think that the modern player has distinct advantages over the greats of yesteryear I think that slams won is not the only criteria for judging a players greatness. Players of the previous eras cannot be fairly judged as to the performance of todays players. I understand it is fun to try. I laugh at the tennis channels selections of the top 10 players of all time. The current players with their advanced training are always going to win that debate. There is no fair way to compare. I played for 25 years with a wooden frame and I would venture that my serve is faster today at 76 with my yonex strung at 50lbs with hybrid then it was when I was 28 playing with a dunlop maxply stung at 45 lbs with klip 16 gauge gut. I think we have a bevy of great players today and they should all be enjoyed for their greatness
