Had he lost in QF he probably would have played. Why didn't he pull out before the draw? He couldn't have gotten an easier path in Montreal since the draw came out and he still withdrew.
The draw came out before the final. He was going to play if he didn't win.Why didn't he pull out before the draw? He couldn't have gotten an easier path in Montreal since the draw came out and he still withdrew.
After the QF he has played a 1 hour match...Had he lost in QF he probably would have played.
But a break from Sunday to Wednesday is smaller than from Friday to Wednesday, playing 2 almost full weeks at a non-slam is prob. not the worth the risk. After the QF he has played a 1 hour match...
Why is Montreal/Toronto right before Cinci? Is it so hard to tweak the calendar to put a week between those two masters 1000? The way it is now It hurts both tournaments.
MurrayNow, who will make the finals ? Mannarino or some other pizza delivery boy ??
Very smart.
He knew Nolan and Fred were gonna no show Montreal. Vulture that then duck them in Cinncy.

Is that even a reliable source?

Barely even played.
Very tough tournament, no?Exactly! Nadal had NO competition in MTL and hardly sweated!
No need to tire himself out before the USO.
I selfishly kind of wanted fognini to win because I knew I would probably get a chance to see Rafa in Cinci. Maybe I worded that wrong. I didn't want fognini to win but wouldn't have been as disappointed as it would have given me a chance to go watch Rafa practice and play live. Unfortunately with my work and the timing of the US tournaments I haven't got a chance to ever see Rafa in person despite watching almost every match he has ever played the last 12ish years.Had he lost in QF he probably would have played.
I don't think that matters to him. He got some match play, got a title, guaranteed the 2 seed now at USO. Hard courts are hard on his body and where he is most likely to get hurt.He got a walkover in the semifinal, and the final was just an hour and 10 minutes.

I believe soIsn’t Cinci a mandatory Masters?
Back to back is the tradition for us open series, the same for the Indian - miami and Mardid to Rome. Also, Big 3 skipped one of the three is not due to the calendar and they just simply pick one of two to warm up for US OPEN.Why is Montreal/Toronto right before Cinci? Didnt he skip Miami this year?I believe so
But Nadal can skip it cause he has more than 600 wins, is older than 31 and more thAn 12 years on tour
Yes skipped MiamiDidnt he skip Miami this year?
Also, we all know he will skip shanghai or Paris so...
Cool, still no reason to play Cincy. He got a walkover in the semifinal, and the final was just an hour and 10 minutes.
12 years and 600 matches.I think you're allowed to shorten your schedule once you've got like 10 years on tour and a certain number of matches played.
Now all big 3's schedule are all for the GS. They just take very limited number of tounaments outside of GS to warm up and grab some points. In another word, even they don't have waived treaty, they still do the same schedule cause lots of point slots are not even utilized for big 3 even all masters are mandatory for them.I believe so
