Nadal - the best clay court player ever?

This thread is inspired by "Fedalforever" who spoke the truth despite that it glorifies a player who is not his favourite. Inspired by such altruistic and honest gesture, I have decided to do a similar thing and make this thread. I root for Djokovic, but the truth is that Rafael Nadal is the best clay court player ever. In a temple of clay court tennis, Roland Garros, Nadal lost only 2 matches in 11 season; against possessed Soderling and against Djokovic, the man who attained level of play that has never been attained by a human before.

I think Nadal could do with a bigger racket to help him deal with high bouncing balls and stop shanking that BH.

See my opening post. This thread is dedicated to you, to your integrity an honesty. You are a unique human being.
Much better than MTO abuser, time rule abuser, ball boy threatener, cheater, RG-less noquack faker.

Disgraceful cheat in action.

A most refreshing piece of analysis. Thank you for breaking this down for us.

You just made my point. You hate Djokovic so much (maybe he financially ruined you or even worse) and yet you had courage to make a thread glorifying Djokovic just because you love truth more than you hate Djokovic. Respect.

The most accomplished = the best. So yes, of course.

But by the circular logic, his success actually proves a weak era on clay.

I'm not sure. I'd say Borg is better to start with.

Then you have Bruguera and Muster for example. They played in the strongest clay era there ever was. Nadal has only had Alamagro as top clay court specialist, and he was like top 15 at best.

I have nothing but admiration for Borg. However, in my opinion, no contest with Nadal. Please, feel free to justify your opinion in more details.

Lol Almagro is better than Federer, Djokovic or Ferrer? :)

There are tons of better clay courters than Rafa. Ferrero especially, he beat peak Claydal in straight sets on clay that year while he was FAR away from his prime. Coria is much better as well, after the mental damage done by the RG 2004 final he almost beat near-peak Claydal in 2005 and bageled him as well. Had he won the RG 2004 final, I think we know what would've happened in those matches and basically in their careers after that.

Nadal profited from a very weak clay era, vulturing unobligatory Masters titles like Monte Carlo and RG titles against a fast-court specialist, a doper and someone so mentally feeble he double faults the victory to Nadal in multiple finals.

(is this how you do it?)

And the sky is blue. The only other person who has a claim is Borg - he retired at 26 with same number if RG titles as Nadal at same age. But you have to give it to Nadal, he didn't retire and blew all the records away.

What a bunch of ********.

Nadal had to deal with Peak Fed, who was an absolute beast on clay.
Without Nadal he would have won the Career Slam four times and the real Grand Slam at least twice.

Nadal is the best Clay-courter ever, no doubt.

No. But Alamagro is a clay specialist, just not a very good player as opposed to the 80s and 90s when the clay court specialists were actually good. Nadal has had a weak clay era to dominate.
Almagro is not relevant in this discussion, it is like saying Federer won Wimbledon by beating only a grass court specialist Feliciano Lopez.
Lopez is a grass specilist and yet he is inferior on grass to Nadal and Djokovic.

You are implying Almagro is better on clay than Federer, Wawrinka and Djokovic, lmao

Lol you're crazy. My point was that Nadals clay competition comes from a guy that who's got clay as his worst surface. Weak era for Nadal compared to say Bruguera or Borg.

Then you could have at least mentioned Ferrer, Wawrinka and even Soderling as for three guys who got clay as their best surface. Almagro...

Nadal is the best clay court player by far. He maintained an unbelievable level over 10 years and still could win a couple of titles on clay.

I root for Djokovic, but the truth is that Rafael Nadal is the best clay court player ever.

...and this news just in: the earth is round. Once Rafa surpassed 6 RG's, he was the greatest clay court player ever. There's no one who can dispute it.

And the first part of your sentence I just don't get. So you root for Novak, so what? That makes you (or any fan) blind to cold facts? I am a Fed fan, but have never denied Rafa is the greater clay courter (duh), or that he's not a mental giant. I also would never deny Novak's great ROS, movement and tremendous groundstrokes.

Since you're a Djoker fan, are you able to admit that Fed is the greatest grass court player ever or that Edberg and Mac are the greatest volleyers?

Nadal is better on clay than anyone has been on any surface. That is without a shadow of a doubt.

Read my opening post and thread by "Fedalforever" to understand purpose of this thread. Regarding 2 statements you offered, I would really like to agree with you, but I am not sure. However, they are definitely in contention and discussion.
