Well like I said, until there's written proof we can't really know who draws more crowd and who's more popular. I can only assume that the player who's ranked #1 is naturally the more popular, but that's hardly a fact like some claim.

Hey P_Agony!

Too much evidence says #1 is not the measure of popularity, and then, how would you measure popularity anyway? The USA? The rest of the world? Online polls? Q-ratings? Messageboards?

Disputes:

Sampras=Agassi
Safina=Serena
Jankovic=Sharapova
Ivanovic=Venus

Nah, it would be extremely difficult to measure, imo.

Many fans don't do Facebook, MySpace, tennis website online polls, because they aren't scientific, matter of fact no contest is, there's always a problem with sampling.

Then stand corrected again. European Spanish people are also classed as white.

Classed as white...

that makes no sense, what does 'classed' as white mean?

I've had discussions like this before on this message board regarding Nadal and how he is treated differently and is it because of race.

First off there is no doubt that theres definitely a phenotype difference between the Spanish and most other Europeans.

There are many Europeans who do not consider the Spanish to be 'white'. Get some drunk and they will readily admit it.

Race is complicated and really is just a social construct based on physical differences. There is only one 'race' and that is the human race. However, the Spanish certainly have different physical characteristics from other Europeans.
