Nadal won't miss any tournaments

Nadal usually is injured on hardcourts or grasscourts. Clay is not a surface that bothers Nadal. Not just because its easy on the body, but also because Nadal has only played TWO five-setters at Roland Garros ever (and one of those was vs Isner, so not a lot of long rallies), and wins most of his matches at the other clay events with short sets (lots of 6-2, 6-1 and the occasional 6-0). Whereas at Wimbledon he struggles in the first week (adjusting to surface can be dangerous for your knees, especially adjusting from the highest bouncing surface to the lowest, within a week) and has to play 5-setters (and 5-setters in the final a couple of times too). And hardcourts are very damaging, and you can see how long you play on hardcourts, from Canada Masters all the way until Australian Open. And he usually doesn't play in February (so plenty of time to recover) or he plays a light-weight South American event. So its no wander that most of his injuries will not occur during the clay season.

sigh

you really dont get it do you.

Lol. Yes many do Nathaniel, yet not everyone, that's for sure. Some folks even say anything to try and spin a story to somehow denigrate a player. It's really strange to observe, but it is what it is. When Federer is down, some try and really pile on and go overboard and we see it with Nadal as well in my opinion. It's the norm. Bobby_One's experience with tennis is a valuable asset for the forum.

borg number one, Thanks for appreciating my postings. I only can give back this compliment to yourself.

True, but it's important to remember that many call it as they see it, and it happens to be a different opinion to those of some others, but is just as genuine and objective as humanly possible as another's take.

Some people just genuinely see things differently and believe honestly that they have justified reasons for doing so.

Nathaniel, Are you sure that you don't believe you always are right with your opinions?

Good to hear he is ok.. And that Roger is playing well after a year with back problems..

yet Rafa is rumored to have said to Roger : ' I've got your back'

Who called Federer GOAT? Either giddiness is blinding or the high mountain of age and knowledge from where you post is taking your oxygen away. I also hope Federer doesn't fall to number 3, to prevent further disappointment from you, mostly.

Mayhew, Awake! There are more posters here who believe the Swiss No.2 is the GOAT than tennis balls are used all over the world...

And you should turn your head to TV more concentrated in order to not overlooking a player's serious injury or illness...

"...Regarding the blisters he had to deal with in Melbourne, it's last minute new that Rafael Nadal signed a three-year deal with Mueller Sports Medicine to promote the company's special products in the prevention and healing of abrasions. Nadal used Mueller's kit during the Australian Open."

So...who is gonna endorse for his back treatments?

This whole Backgate drama is starting to sound like summer of 2012.

first its a tweek, then its fine, now its dire, then its not.

Thank goodness the Aussie fans booed Rafa's back hoax, otherwise he likely might have stolen this title from the deserving champion Wawrinka through trickeration. Kudos to the Aussie fans for booing Rafa's bull****.

Muscle spasms and/or tightness can happen and pass in a a few days. Remember the weather was extremely hot leading up to that match. Who knows but maybe that affecting the back too.

It's not like Nadal never lost a set in a final before. He played many hours with Djoker.

Still...it was going to be Stan's night with or without the tweaking of his back. I actually would have preferred if Nadal retired from the match. The match was not enjoyable after the incident.

Do you think Nadal would have playacted if he was playing Djokovic in the final? Just thought about that and wondered.
