Naomi Osaka withdraws from the WTA Finals with a shoulder injury

Rough end of the year for Osaka. She played and won her first match at the WTA finals on Monday in a rematch of the Aus Open final against Kvitová.

Definitely didn’t see this withdrawal happening. Hope she recovers. Her 2019 was a roller coaster. Won the Aus Open, split with her coach, had some mediocre results, finished the year strong with a Premier title in Osaka and then won the Premier Mandatory title in Beijing. She sits at #2 in the live rankings but could finish anywhere between #2 and #5.

Seriously? I was looking forward to a blockbuster tonight Osaka vs Barty! On well, that’s bad luck. Although I’m not a fan still wish her a speedy recovery and come back 2020 strong.

Yeah very unfortunate, thought it'd be Halep or Andreescu withdrawing, not Naomi.
