I remember Ian had a video analyzing the contact point of the serve. He mentioned the contact point should be on your way up not on your way down. I want to check the video again because I find myself having the problem he describes: I make contact on my way down, losing a lot of power.

Does anyone remember which youtube video is this?

Are you sure he said contact the ball on the serve on the way up? Most pros contact it on the way down.

@taurussable: That sounds like a very fine detail. I notice you are a 3.5 level player (like me) and my advice would be to go with very broad tips until you can really control how you hit the ball and get some body into it. This is just a suggestion, and if you are having fun doing your thing or have already got to a more advanced serving state, feel free to ignore me!

@taurussable: Your serve looks pretty good to me. I am betting that you will be ahead of me in ratings before too long! Wish you all the best.

Thanks. I practiced serve once a week for about 2months now and getting better. You don't want to look like how I serve a few months ago:)

I'll post more videos of other aspects of the game when I get a chance.

true, but at times they tried to keep their opponents honest by surprising them and hitting the ball on its way up. Andre Agassi used to be notorious for doing that.
