Hi guys, wondering if there's some people experienced with changing pallets.

I heard its easier to change on head racquets, is that true?If so, why?

Overall, I would like a detailed explanation of how exactly to do it. I would rather not go through **** or any other customization service as it can be expensive.

Please let me know the materials you need, step by step process, etc.

Thanks so much!

To the OP, Head and Volkl are the only 2 companies that actually use pallets on their frames. Wilson, Prince etc. do not and thus theirs are not able to be changed by an average joe. As for the Head pallets the info in the provided link is good info. Basically you just tape the grip off, then use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the tape that is holding the pallet in place. Use a flat screwdriver to gently work under the pallet and start to lift it and get more heat underneath. Once you get the old pallet off clean the tape off of the handle. Then use either a double sided tape or a spray adhesive on the handle and put the new pallet in place. Use some masking tape or something similar to hold it in place as it sets for about an hour or so and the proceed with putting the buttcap on and your grip etc.
If you don't have Head or Volkl that this can be done then you will need to get the racquet to **** or P1 to have them do a custom handle for you, and yes that gets a bit pricey.

I've changed Fischer pallets. They are a breeze. Just unscrew 2 plastic screws and pull the pallets apart. Put the new one in place and screw the 2 plastic screws together. You have to be careful not to overtighten the screws as they will break. Guess you'd have to use glue then.

I would use something flatter than a screw driver like a butter knife. The most important thing is to be PATIENT. You can crack the pallet if you try to rush things (unless you don't intend to keep the old ones).

Racquetmaxx also does grip size changes (pallet and non-pallet frames). I had my PS95 resized and they did a pretty good job. Not as pricey as **** or P1

I'll be making a video soon on how to remove pallets for head rackets(should be the same for others). I found a very good way, IMO, to remove them without cracking, but it just takes a little patience. Will post when i am done.
