Need help with stringing

i think this might have to go into strings and stringing section, but w/e

anyway i strung with a 1 piece stringing the other day but fell short about 4 top crosses, i cut off too much for the short side i later figured out,

i was i wondering if i would have that problem with a two piece, im assuming not because you would string cut then use the rest to string the crosses

so anyway im just trying to figure out if the two piece stringing will make sure that doesnt happen, and if so, some instructions on a two piece stringign (i currently know how to do 1-piece)

thx in advance

Stringing patterns always indicate the required lengths of strings for 1- and 2-piece stringing. Just measure the lengths carefully and you should never run out of strings again. The biggest "problem" that I see is doing the starting knot but even that is quite easy after few tries.

ya but i wont always have a computer with me to search and find out how much i need

and ya the only downside i saw to 2 piece stringing was that starting knot but i was wondering whether i would just have to measure the length for the whole racket itself instead of 2 sides just in case i dont have a computer with me

o, and i have a revo 4k too =]

Personally, 1-piece is easier but since my Prestige requires 2-piece stringing (1-piece is not recommended), I have become adept with this style of stringing.

k should i do all of the short side first or do like 1 at a time or what...

i would say do all short side first, even though it could possibly cause distortion =/

20' of string is ample for most rackets, but sometimes, and OS 18 x 19 racket may require a bit more. I strung a WonderWand Weapon (135 sq in) a few weeks ago which had a 20 x 22 pattern. It took 25' for the mains and 20' for the crosses. I usually cut off 20' for the mains, and 1' less than the number of crosses for the crosses.

Doing all of one side before doing the other is a no-no in stringing. At most, you should only string up to no more than 3 mains on one side before doing the other. Personally, you should do one main on one side and then do another on the other side. That way, there will be an even distribution of the stresses on the hoop.

If you are that worried about how much string to use on the short side, why not thread the sting through all the mains without pulling tension. This will determine how much string to use on the short side. When you do tension the strings, they will stretch more than enough to make your knots.
