Need Specs for Wilson Jack Kramer Staff 110 SV

I have a Wilson Jack Kramer Staff 110 St. Vincent racquet that I need to restring. It currently weighs 12.3 oz (349 gm), and is approx. 5 points head light.

I'm ok with the weight and balance, but I would like to know the stiffness rating of the frame to help me decide what tension to string the racquet. If the racquet is fairly stiff, I will string towards the lower end, if fairly flexible I'll string more mid-range or higher.

Also, does anyone who has owned/played with this racquet have recommendations for strings and tension. I prefer a multi or sync gut.

That reminds me - I have one of these that I wanted to try out. I bet it'll be pretty darn good - and certainly a lot easier than the midsize version.

don't have the spec you're looking for but 110 head and full graphite, it should be very flexible.

Thanks for your reply. The racquet is 80% graphite, 20% fiberglass. Does that make it more stiff or less stiff than 100% graphite?

Virginia,

Go give the racquet a try and let me know what you think of it.

Mine has been just sitting in the closet for several years, but I decided to try playing with it again. At 12+ oz weight, it feels pretty hefty compared to the modern day racquets I play with, but at 5 pts HL, I find it fairly easy to swing. It feels very solid hitting the ball, even on miss hits. I need very much to restring mine, as it currently has some old gamma gut strings that are about 20 years old.

yeah sorry about the mixup, it's got fiberglass in it indeed. it's a flexy feeling racquet, even in 85 headsize wihich i own, a very goold alternative to the PS85 which is 80/20 graphite/kevlar...
don't know if it's more or less stiffer than 100% graphite(my guess is less) but by todays standards it should be really flexible! :)
