NEOS 1000 Glide Bar Adjustment

I have been stringing with my NEOS 1000 for about 2 years, but they glide bars don't slide very well. I have tried adjusting them with the screws on the bottom and there previous owner put lock washers on the glide bars, not sure if they orginally had them. Any suggestions to get the glide bars sliding easily on the tracks? Would some silicon lubricant help? I have also cleaned the tracks with alcohol, but that didn't help either.

Thank you,

It could be that one of the ends is not lined up properly. Lay a bar down on a flat surface there should be no rocking and both end should lay flat on the surface. If one is off loosen one side and adjust.

Good advice. Also, check the length. If it's too long (a previous owner had added washers between the bars and gliders on my P200), it won't stay parallel with the tracks and will stick. If it's too short (over tightened using lock washers maybe?), it will also stick.

Agree with the above. I suggest dumping the washers then performing Irvin's exercise. There's no need for the washers and I fear that it could be contributing to the issue. Then once again clean the bars and the inside of the clamps where they grab the bars. Finally, if none of that works, Grand Slam Stringers has a product called Glide Slide that may help. Good luck.

I checked the bars and they are straight. I tried taking off the washers and adjust the metal pieces that go in the tracks, but the bars didn't fit at all. The problem I have is that the bars sometime slide okay, but most of the type I try to move them and the bar cocks sideways slightly and get stuck.

I would call tennismachines.

Here is what works for me. Put the offending glide bar in its track in the machine. Loosen the four hex screws under the two black pieces that fit into the grooves. Then slide the bar back and forth a bit and it should slide smoothly. Then while holding the bar in the middle, tighten the hex screws under the black pieces. You should do this like a tire, one at a time and just snug it up. Once all are snug, you can go back and tighten.

All good suggestions. I would add that assuming everything is adjusted properly, you could lubricate the glidebars with a product like Break Free CLP. In a pinch I've also used Canola oil. A caveat to this is to make sure none of the lubricant gets on your clamps. Good luck.

I'm not sure there should not be any washers. You correct glide bars have been probably been replaced with ones that were not made for the NEOS. Sounds like there too thick for the NEOS.
