I have been a big fan of Athletic DNA since their beginning...
The early days
What drew me to ADNA initially was their bold clothing designs. It wasn't for everyone, but it had a certain boldness to it that in some aspects reminded me vaguely of the challenge court stuff agassi used to wear. It was just different than anything else out there, and it looked aggressive. Nobody up in my area had it yet, and helping bring it out here was really fun for me. Their shorts in my opinion are the best on the market. In the early days it was the velocity shorts. Similar to dri-fit but a bit lighter and had a premium feel to them. Their shirt material was good, but it didn't breathe to well. When playing outside, it tended to stick to the body. Their polos were a kind of meshy dri-fit feel to them and were really top quality. Their practice shorts at the time were more like mesh basketball shorts. Much improved in the second line The clothes had a longer fit to them. I am 6'6" and on the leaner side. I can wear a size Large comfortable in the shorts and the shirts and the fit is perfect
Their second line (spiral 1, helix shirt, logo long sleeve)
they shortened the shirts by 4 inches and the quality in my opinion dropped significantly. The logos on the shirts constantly were peeling off, and same with the shorts. I found the fit to be a bit wider (fatter) and just was not crazy about the way they felt on me. Size Large was too short, size XL was too boxy. However, the deisgns were very cool. The standout from the line were the performance solid shirts/polos, and the practice shorts. The pracitce shorts were simple, but came in a variety of colors and had big pockets. Great for teaching / training
Third line (spiral crew 2.0, practice shorts, big logo long sleeve, new logo hoodies)
This is when ADNA started to nail it. They knew they were on the cusp. Junior players and even some pro players starting to get exctied about the brand. They knew they had some great designs, and went back to their longer fit, but much more athletic this time around. The fit of the clothes was a bit leaner, which everyone that I know really appreciated. Their material got better, and they started printing the logos directly on the shirts. This was great as they then couldn't peel off
Summer line last year - continued dominance - victory match polos, nitro shirts, logo tees, new performace practice t shirts, tournament shorts, board shorts, etc.
This was some of their most impressive stuff to date. Their materials at this point rival anything Nike or Adidas puts out. The tennis shop owner here in my area will even tell you it is better than either brand. They now have a premium feel to go with their price tag. They kept the same athletic, leaner fit to them. The stuff looks great, and the tournament shorts with the stripes down the side were a nice change up from their always simple, solid color shorts. They were mesh on the strip and on the inside of the legs so they breathed really nice while playing. The logo is stiched on these shorts which makes them look super premium. Their shirts were nice, but my favorite addition was the performance practice t-shirts. VERY under rated from them. Kind of like a dri-fit cotton but very light weight and VERY comfortable to wear. Among my favorite shirts they put out. Came in solid one colors, and they used them for some of their printed shirts later on. They also introduced board shorts here. Fit on the board shorts was a little bigger than their other offerings. I went with a Medium here and they fit perfect (34 inch waist)
NEW CURRENT LINE (chaos, blvd hitting shorts, etc)
the new line is awesome. they changed the material slightly and now have an even more premium feel it it. the polos and the billboard t shirs have a subtle pinstripe to them which remind me of like a Federer Nike polo. The blvd hitting shorts are a great upgrade in their shorts department. A little shorter and a bit more fitted, while still being comfortable and big pockets as well. The deisgns of the new line are really nice and they have a nice mix of really bold (chaos, woodmark, angle slam) and classy (polos, solid match t, billboard) to go along with. The A sox are the same premium sock they have always offered with a nice retro look to them.
If anyone has any questions about any of the DNA lines I am happy to answer them. They are a great company and the guys that run the brand are really cool tennis players and great guys. It's been a fun ride watching them come into their own as a brand and I really think they are doing a great job with their clothes. I recommend checking them out for sure!
