Nike tennis shoes with dynamic fit collar?

First things first, apologies at the lack of pics- posting from an ipad.
Right, when looking at the promo pictures of the Wimbledon kits, I saw Serena's shoes had an inbuilt sock running up from the shoe. This is a similar design as used in the new batch of World Cup football boots- the superfly and magista. In these boots, it is a flynit continuation of The whole shoe spade signed to create a all in one feel. Having worn both, it feels amazing (for football anyway) and it got me wondering if this would find its way into tennis in the immediate future.
Has anyone heard about this? Thoughts?

Serenas been wearing those midtop Nike shoes since the Australian open, although that's all I know, google doesn't seem to come up with anything.

Nike made a flyknit basketball shoe (kobe 9) which requires similar specs to a tennis shoe and Nike seem very keen on flyknit so it wouldn't surprise me if they've got one in development.

They do look incredibly comfortable.

But wonder if they'd withstand the rigors of the hard courts. Might tear on repeated pivots. But as @Mr Small says I'm sure Nike is in the lab testing. If they would hold up they would reduce weight.

Do you not think it would be nice to have that extra support around the top of your foot and ankle? Can imagine it working for the lateral movements as it's flexible- if it were to tear, god knows what would happen to your ankles...
Obviously a complete flynit design would be useless as you'd go through it in seconds, but think there could be scope for the collar

I would actually like the collar if it would mean no tongue.

I loved the old courtballistecs that had the uni tongue design.

Exactly, the no tongue feel of the one's I've tried has been the most radically different part of the feel. Obviously no tongue and a seamless upper will be infinitely more useful for football and creating a good touch, but the support and wrap around feel to the top of your foot is definitely something I'd like in a tennis shoe
