Atrocious coverage of French open in the US.

I'm really peeved guys. The only coverage I'm seeing on my TV listing is Mens Semis Starts @ 11AM in NBC and ends @ 1:30PM.

Just shows how popular Tennis is in the US. What more can you ask than a Fed-Joker Semis?

Atrocious guys.....atrocious!!

That means they'll show the Fed-Djoker semi only.

The Ferrer-Nadal semi will be on the Tennis Channel.

The French isn't really THAT popular of an event to general sports fans. It doesn't have the prestige and history of Wimbledon, it doesn't have the home advantage of the USO, it's just sorta there.

In a perfect world, ESPN would have coverage of all of the slams so that there wouldn't be any tape delays or changing coverages and whatnot. Just be happy that they have full coverage of Wimby this year which should mean no more of the tape delays and shenanigans that NBC pulls yearly.

Is there any way to watch this online? I was hoping to watch it on ESPN3 but they're not going to show any more of the French open...

EDIT: Alright, apparently NBC is streaming the Fed/Djoker match. They're not even showing the Nadal-Ferrer match... Wow.

So nothing on Tennis Channel for Wimbledon other than Wimbledon Primetime?

Yep, although being in the CST I never had the problem with tape delays. However, I can relate the West coast guys who for years have been shafted by tape delays. NBC definitely has to be the worst when it comes to tennis coverage. I ****ing hate them so much.

This is the effect of NBC's rights over ESPN and TC rights. This is what NBC has been doing for years, they used to do it to Wimbledon too. Thankfully, they won't be able to screw up Wimbledon this year, but they still have the right to screw up RG. Screw NBC, watch it online.

What history does NBA or Superbowl have compared to French open Tennis? Its all just business. I hate this **** to the core

Complete monopoly and lack of service. I just pray I can get a good live stream link like Quarters. I swear I'll cut my cable(i have advanced digital with ESPN subscription only for grand slam tennis to be honest!) if wimbly is screwed up!

I don't understand that ESPN & NBC show Australian & US open live. They only screw up wimbly (mostly recorded men's semis) and completely screw up French open!!

I don't know why they acquire the rights when they are not committed to airing it. Outrageous!

Man, in Brazil that is SO common. For example, we don't have any (I mean any) tennis match broadcasted on open-air TV since 1985! I wasn't even born.

I'm hoping Ferrer battles and Ralph buttpicks enough to delay the Fedovic SF enough to catch it from the start and NBC stays with it to a conclusion. It's guaranteed to 1:30PM EDT but I'm sure they won't go all "Heidi" on us 40+ years after that debacle!

NBC doesn't show the Australian Open or the US Open. The AO is on ESPN and TC exclusively, the USO is shared by TC, ESPN, and CBS. NBC has screwed up tennis in favor of the Today show for years. They do fine on the weekends, they just screw up the weekdays. They lost their Wimbledon contract to ESPN and ABC, so thankfully we won't have to deal with that crap this year.

Hey, cut back on the Lindt 99%. It isn't difficult :D

@$2.49/bar for the 90% Lindt, I would also need you to adopt one of my Lindt-colored Spaniels to afford the aforementioned flawed cable schedules from ESPN/Tennis Channel. I believe I have my priorities properly aligned, much as your precious Humbalito has his fluid bottles, no?

Seriously, if you want to watch all the slams and Masters and 500's you should relocate to India. Lower cost of living etc. We'll consider ourselves blessed by your presence. :D

Should I ask for you or Leander Paes, who I have strung for, to secure my visa?

It's absurd for NBC to "insist" on airing the men's semis when they only want to allow 3 hours of airtime for a clay court match?? What's the point? They would rather air People's Court or Price is Right? WTF. ESPN would definitely air both in entirety if not for contractual obligations. Watch an entire tournament until the best 2 matches (prior to final) & only one airs? Unbelievable.

French > USO. Just saying. Dumb yanks

Well at least at the USO - the stands are full for later rounds - unlike the epic semis of today. Looks like a early round 11 am match with unknowns playing.

Horrible turnout by the french today...pathetic.

Those are CBS and CW shows.

NBC would rather air the Today show, then air live tennis. It's always been that way.

You must be new here. It's the same story every year. NBC forks out the big bucks for one of the biggest spectacles in tennis, then cans it and tape delays in favor of airing a show that is on tv literally almost every day.

The most we can do is ***** constantly and hope NBC wises up one day in the distant future, or hope that the fft wises up like the AELTC and opts to go with an American provider that respects the sport and the tournament enough to air the matches live, even if that provider is not able to bid as high as NBC.

You obviously don't live in the USA. If you do, you must be living in a cave. 99% of the population here doesn't even know that the French Open is going on right now.

Yes, it is all just business. And tennis isn't where the money is.

I might add that NBC's live stream is ****ty. It jumps around way too much, and those annoying logos reduce the size of the fullscreen picture way too much.

NBC insist on having their own camera there so it's off centre next to the French TV one. Looks horrible not having the camera in the centre of the court.

I finally saw it various parts on youtube of a Eurosport network source. It was nice to actually hear as well as see the tennis. Only 2 commentators who kept their comments to a minimum. So refreshing to get a feel for what's going on in the stadium & on the court rather than 3 blathering idiots talking over it all continuously as we're always subjected to on U.S. tv.
