No male player in the open era won multiple slams at 28

Slams won at age 28 in the open era

Boris Becker 1996 Australian 28y 2m 6d
Roger Federer 2010 Australian 28y 5m 23d
John Newcombe 1973 Australian 28y 7m 9d
Ivan Lendl 1989 Australian 28y 10m 22d
Pete Sampras 2000 Wimbledon 28y 10m 27d

I think Nadal was also 28 when he won RG last year which looks to be his last slam win btw..

Wawrinka was 28 when he won the AO last year as well.

Five of them did it at the Australian Open, one at Wimbledon and one at Roland Garros.

Murray and Djokovic are 28 atm, this ominous for them. There is something about age 28 and players not being able to win multiple slams. Until May of next year each of them might win one slam tops.

Your methodology for predicting is flawed. You rely too much on past results.

I think there will be a surprise winner at the USO.

Every year there is a different player winning the USO since 2011.

Djokovic
Murray
Nadal
Cilic
Surprise winner

Agassi is an outlier in the tennis world. He had very little mileage at 29. His mileage at 29 was that of a 24 or 25 year old. No wonder he played like a 25 year old at 29!

Wawrinka or Kyrgios.

No kidding. But I wouldn't say he had low mileage. He went pro at 16 and made the French and USO semis at 18. He just skipped the Aussie Open until 1995 and took a sabbatical in 96.

So I wouldn't say his body was 25 at 29. I just think he gave himself timely rest.

His mileage at 29 wasn't the one of a player that age. Certainly not the mileage of 29 year old Sampras or Federer. Hence Agassi winning most of his slams after 29.

Isn't Federer the ultimate outlier though? He's been playing MORE matches in his 30s.
