celebrating his second ATP Masters Series title of the season at the trendy Italian restaurant Buona Notte, a popular hangout for Montreal's young, rich and beautiful. Dining on risotto and steak, Djokovic's eye is taken by the coincidental arrival of Rafael Nadal, the man whom one day earlier he had dismissed in the Rogers Masters semifinals.
A short time later, Nadal instructs his waiter to send a bottle of champagne to the champion's table.
"It was a very good bottle," says the 20-year-old. "I went over to his table to thank him and we saluted each other with the champagne. I didn't know too much about Rafa and you can't judge someone by the way they are on the court. It was a very nice gesture."
On the subject of his ball bounces - which have been known to climb into the mid 20s before he serves - Djokovic says: "It's just my routine, my habit. Everyone has a different habit. It's one of the ways I am trying to find my concentration and focus myself. I know it's a bit irritating for my opponent, but I'm not doing it on purpose to frustrate them."
Although Federer, an avid skier, keeps his skis racked for fear of injury, Djokovic last winter hit the slopes at St. Anton, Austria. "I love skiing so much and I am willing to take the risk. A lot of people tell me not to do it, but when I really want to do it no-one can stop me. I see skiing as my second sport. When I was 11, 12 years old it was my first sport but then I had to make a choice and I chose tennis."
The next generation of Serbian players to hit the pro tour may well include Djokovic's younger brothers, Marko and Djorde, who for now enjoy the chance to snap photos with other ATP stars in the player lounge when they tag along with Novak. Marko, who like his brother before him, has moved to Germany to train, played doubles with Novak at July's Croatia Open (they lost in the first round). Djorde remains in Belgrade where he juggles school and practice.7
Thanks ..
No prob, glad you liked it.
He is in Serb Playboy, similar pic of him jumping into pool with racquet hitting the ball. I found it funny that he would do the samepic here but only in water. Anyways the topics were alltogether different.
great post by the OP...
daddy: you're on a posting rampage!!!!!
He needs to stop spending so much energy on impersonations and spend more energy on not choking in slam finals.
Could you have done better?
If Novak just keeps his head together, he will pass federer next year. Novak is becoming superior in every aspect of game compared to federer except the mental side, but he will improve that too. IN next slam final, he will win it no matter who he plays in the finals unless except if it is french open final against healthy nadal.
I think you're getting your hopes up too much, too fast. Djokovic is getting better, but I still don't think he's going to be better then Fed next year. Maybe in 2009.
Yeah he is. He has a lot to say. Thanks btw.
He outplayed federer in US open finals til his mind started to playing tricks on him. Maybe he saw Maria in the stand and had other fantasies running thru his head during all those set points.

Sorry friend, its just this time of year, I talk too much. Sometimes Im gone for months. Anyways I dont know if you know but I cant play due to injured pinkie finger and right ankle, for months. I am really bored, that may well be the reason ..
I hope you understand ! Cheers !
who wouldnt have too much to talk about around this time of year? capping the us open, davis cup action coming up, and speculation of federer's greatness, future GOATs, etc
but how can you be gone for months? you joined this board just last month! i suppose its never too late to say welcome to the boards
I like the way you think and pray its true. I hope by the end of the year, masters will show us where he is cause that is crem de la crem society and then he wil have no easy matches. If he can get there and produce, you and me - we are right. Otherwise, we need to wait more.
you seem to have a lot to say too! you've been here since july 2007 and already over 1000 posts!
Yeah I seem to go on posting rampages. LOL!
Yesterday was out of this world mate. I know itf off topic but Ill contact you for the letter. Ill let you know hw my 2hbh is going on , I an in the fast court club now, decided to go for faster court and pick and choose my shots ..
Thanks for the advice.
Are you a aussie daddy, if so do you know what the new surface of the Aussie open 08 will be like.?? i was told it will no longer be rebound ace but something similar to US open surface. but will retain its higher bounce and will be spin friendly. is this true ??
