Number of hours each day on a computer

Last month or so have been getting dizzy spells.

It first happened when I turned over in bed to pick up my i-pad from the floor!

About a week ago I noticed the dizziness would get worse when I was on the computer.

Since then I've reduced my time on my I-pad from arounds 4 hours plus per day to under 2 hours - and I feel a lot better.

I googled vertigo and computers and seemingly I'm not the only one.

It's pretty obvious. If you're trying to hide it, you are doing a bad job.

I try to spend as little time on a computer as possible.

If you're on the computer then most likely you're sitting.
There's been a lot of discussion about sitting for long periods lately.
Sitting has been compared to smoking in terms of health detriment.

Prob strained your cervical spine muscles somewhere.

I see this a lot, posture is def a factor in long standing issues.

I actually just had a nasty vertigo episode from lying in bed yesterday. Was dreaming that I was lying in my neck in an awkward position and when I woke up sure enough it was in an awkward position. Went to sit up slowly and everything was spinning. Lasted all day. Ugly. I'd rather have pain from a neck strain than the vertigo. Was able to get some treatment and a sub-occipital release later that night which relieved 70% of my symptoms and woke up this morning feeling fine.

Vertigo is defined as a loss of balance. Had to take someone to hospital once. Think it was electrolyte imbalance or something. Stumbling around and had to put his hand on the wall to walk. That's how bad it was. But yeah, basically the room was spinning for him i think. Ear infection caused by reusing ear plugs.

Vertigo is defined as a loss of balance.

actually, the medical definition of vertigo is a spinning sensation; loss of balance is not required. Some non-medical dictionnaries define it as a spinning sensation and balance issues, but the spinning is again the sine qua non

Any change in your vision prescription? Unsure if you have access to a PC doc.... ask if you're worried! Does not sound like fun.
