Ode to the Fed

Can I preface this with I am admittedly "old school," I am not posting to yank someone's chain, and I just love the game.

I just have to admire Fed, in our media and endorsement saturated world, for remaining calm after great plays and during competition, generating brillance without primal grunting, and actually giving credit to others after he wins. As Mac said, Fed mentions the great play of others and that shows "CLASS." Ny 2cents, the respect that pros have for each other is too important to the GAME. To me, two great athletes going after each other in such a gueling contest and then respecting the other's gifts is way too important to what really matters. I understand, as Sampras found out, that the media groans at "the nice " image and endorsement monies will not flow on such calm strength, but thank you Fed for preserving, at least for me, a contest that is both brillant and enjoyable in every way that MATTERS. I do remember Bud Collins getting a chance, after many years, to actually do commentary on the Tennis Channel of a Fed match. Bud spent much of the time exclaiming an "Ohhh" or "Ahhh" at Fed's variety and brillance. Bud understands and was almost speechless that day at many points.
The point here - I am slowly learning to just tune out the "Circus" that is becoming more and more everyday evident, not that it wasn't in tennis before, in our great game of Tennis.
I am "old school" - one does need labels nowadays it seems- and the future may hold both the best and worst for tennis. Since juniors often emulate the current champions, I can in many years look forward to "still head" and amazing variety "a la Fed " in our junior males. The worst - perhaps many years from now our top junior females will be screaming at each other on each shot and refusing to acknowledge the talent of others. No... I'll stop there.
If I were fifteen again, many years past, I would revel in Fed as a model and I would train, and practice, and enjoy my talent to its fullest...
What a great game...

Seems like Roge is the kind of guy, you know, crap just doesnt stick to him. Some of the clowns on this board would love to paint him dirty, thing is, it aint workin', guy is just too good. That could be the reason neither Hewitt nor Safin nor Roddick ever try to get into his face, he seems to be well-respected by the top dogs.
