Official Pacific Racquets Thread

Poor sales channel? Little interest from distributors? Too much old stock?

This is what I was thinking, but the X Force Pro has been out of stock for a while (at least 6 months), and X Force regular has been dwindling as well.

X Feel Pro 95s as available at a few online retailers, but in limited grip sizes.

I'd think they would want to get the new stuff out there as quickly as possible, but then again, I'm not a business or marketing expert, so what do I know?

Quick TW. Waiting for the BX2 range to be available. I could find them locally but ordering from TW is cheaper.

Let's all do a post pictures of your Fischer/Pacific racquets.

Here's mine. Previously strung with Cyclone, now with Tourbite 19

i didnt even know there was such a thing as a 'pacific' racquet. never seen them for sale, or demo locally nor anyone in the michigan/******* playing with them. i just bought another brand new raquets, after trying a bunch of demos, would have been nice to try them out before buying.... maybe next year.

No offense, but have you ever been to the Tennis Warehouse home page?

Right between 'Mantis' and 'PowerAngle'. Granted, the above is an older image as they're now between 'One Strings' and 'PowerAngle', but you get the idea. They've been there for 4+ years now.

I use them now, and live in MIchigan.

The BX2 wait is ridiculous.

yeah that's why I pulled the trigger and got another BX. They make a good product BUT like a lot of racket companies they seem to think nobody would notice. It is a shame too because their product has a very interesting niche... old school feeling frames that work well with the modern game's need for spin and placement yet wont kill your arm.

annoyed... but it is the stick I play best with

i am sure there really is no difference between the BX and the BX2 line. not enough to make a major difference.

Agreed. There was another thread about the BX2 frames 10+ months ago, and we compared the published specs between the two, and they were pretty much identical.

Granted, specs don't tell the whole story, but comparing the "BX" and the "BX2" versions using the 'Wayback Machine', I can see that both the X Force Pro (16x20) and X Feel Pro 95 have the exact same specs between BX & BX2.

i do like the paint job better with the BX2 line but for the savings received i am glad that i was able to get the BX racquets.

I do own both the original (BX) and BX2 version of the X Force Pro and I can't really feel any difference in the way both racquets play. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it's just an updated paint job. And I can't blame them – it's an awesome racquet.

Oh, and by the way lgbalfa, if you still think about getting that BX2 bag - it's really a rather nice bag. Top-notch quality all around. Recommended for the Pacific enthusiast.

Nailed it. And this should not be a big surprise to anyone. I am just happy they are in the racquet business for another year.

I want them to be bought out by technifiber rackets and continue their line which are similar to technifiber anyway. they will be good match.

from a financial standpoint it probably makes sense.

i am sure a majority of their profits are from strings, etc..

Pacific similar to tecnifibre? :confused::confused:
No way. Not even close feel. Tecnifibre has a hollow and stiff feel, nothing to do with fischer or pacific.

If Tecnifibre took over Pacific, I would leave the ship...

Thank you. WTF??????? But consider the source.

Before making speculations about Pacific staying or not in business, I would check the european market and the company numbers. They just might not be that interested in the US Market, as it is dominated by brands that base their sales on MKT more than quality.

This may be a stretch, and maybe I'm giving the 'Ace of Fed' waaaayyy too much credit, but I believe he may be referring to Tecnifibre's clone of the Pro No 1 (that is no longer in production), the 315 VO2 Max.

When Baghdatis left Fischer for Tecnifibre, they leased the mold from Fischer. But they couldn't reproduce that 'Fischer' feel, and the frame died a quick death. I'm pretty certain the same would happen if they took over Pacific (not that I believe it would ever happen).

IMO, Pacific did the best thing they possibly could: Release their frames as close as possible to the previous Fischer model line, but give it a better paint job.

Absolutely. And they were already well established in the tennis industry with their strings, so the acquisition was a good fit on that basis.

Aren't the TF 315 VO2 Max a 100 sg in?

I currently use a becker bag... I like black and orange and am eyeing some of the newer Pacific BX2 bags. 6 or 9 racket bags

Im really in no hurry though, might get a volkl bag as it is similar to the becker.

i will say though that the quality of the fit and finish of the pacific racquets are terrible.

do your racquets look like this?

seems like all my racquets eventually start to have the clear coat peel off from normal use:

Yeah, my Yonex racquets get some of the worst paint chips from regular use. I think the PACIFICs could benefit from some better and more diverse paint jobs.

Poor quality?? that's odd. First time I read one statement complaining about bad quality in Pacific Racquets. The 4 X forces that I own are just an excelent piece of quality equipment. :)

maybe it is considered "normal" wear and tear.

There is a clear coat layer on top of the XFP95 that I noticed last night while strigning one of my sticks. It is certainly different from the clear coats on my VCT89 which is mroe of a hard clear coat. THE XFP95 has a soft clear coat that I noticed when it got a little scratched with an awl. I will post some pictures tonight, along with what I did to customize them. I think the pj on my sticks is nice for the most part. I keep them in a bag.

FWIW, I've never had any significant QC issues with the paint or clear coat flaking off on its own on any Fischer and Pacific racquets I've tried. The only issue was the removal of lead tape when it would sometimes rip off the paint, which unfortunately is very common among all manufacturers these days.

very strange that mine do have cosmetic issues.
Hahaha! You've knocked it a bit - big deal! You should see my daughter's X-Feel Tours! :) She has 3 of them for training and playing tournaments. Try to imagine how 14 y.o. kids regard to their sticks! And so what?! The Pacifics play great and look fittingly scuffed but well corresponding to the shelf with the cups and medals worked by them... haha!
Great quality sticks in my views.

Seems weird that you'd first "bash" then seek some potential warranty aspects!? As all major Mfg's have a warranty... basically return the suspect frame(s) with your sales receipt for inspection, and go from there! Seems you spent more time taking pictures then to be a standard consumer with a potential problem?>>>? To me at least, it looks like a common 'contact' with a netcord to create the 'chips'??

What do you define as; 'normal use'?? Remember, a racket is made to ONLY come into contact with a lil' yellow 'fuzzy-thing'...
