Old but Gold: Bodybuilders argue over how many days there are in a week

I'm still hoping that we put all our avatars together and he appears captain planet style. Sigh.

But as for now, 17 days in a week, sir.
This guy must train 17 days/week,

Training to make the UFC Hvyweight limit................................................8 days/week

If the grand slem Wimbledon is played over two weeks and players play every other day, that means fedr plays four times a week for two weeks from Sunday to Sunday, meaning that he has to win 8 matches to win the trophy.

I even put some dots on the calender so you can understand

All baseline bashing but no brain? lol

I brought it back up because I only just found out about THIS video that covers the thread

I rate this vid 3.5 stars; 4 stars this week and 3 stars next week when I’ll watch it again.

TheJosh has a cousin on this forum BTW...the dude that said fedr would lose his next match in Miami and then backed off his prediction by saying he meant his next match vs Joe Kovic, this without mentioning Djoker at all.

Wait, there's more. Some tourneys start on Sunday and end on Sunday, that's 15 days

Hilarious video.

I don't know if I should say this next bit though because I don't want this thread to turn into that one, but I really can see where Josh was coming from. All he was doing was counting Sunday to Sunday (or Monday to Monday) as 2 weeks, and counting both workouts he had on the 2 Sundays or Mondays within the 2 weeks. Hence his 8x in 2 weeks.

Put it this way, if someone asked me what 2 weeks from today was I'd tell them May 14, 2019.

I had one dude tell me they never played Wimbledon men’s singles finals on Saturday because it wouldn’t be a fortnight. Until 1982, they concluded on Saturday to faithfully oblige blue laws that stated no play on either Sunday.

My French speaking friends could solve TheJosh conundrum by telling him to work out only on days ending in “di” and always rest on the one day beginning with “di”, non?

@vive le beau jeu ! @randomtoss
What about the 'semaine des quatre jeudis', which is sort of equivalent to 'month of Sundays'? This means a 5-6 work outs week for TheJosh since he goes to the gym every other day.

This counting thing is so confusing!

"You don't count Sunday, it's not a day yet." :-D:-D

And his workout plan has him starting his first workout on Sunday.

It's all very funny to me in the way they argue about it by hurling insults around for sure. I laughed and laughed some more at just how far it descended

That said, I don't believe one guy is Einstein and the other guy's a complete idiot either. They just thought about it differently and started counting at different points. Josh counts the workout on Sunday and then starts counting like you would count the days of the week or the passage of time. Essentially he was going from 0-14 and calling it 14 days instead of starting the count on Sunday at 1 and going to Saturday which counts as the 7th (or 14th) day. This is where some people got on his back about his "double" counting of Sunday. They said it was 15 days which is right if you count Sunday as Day 1.

Now I'm sure Josh stumbled over his logic more than a few times, and didn't explain himself the best (as evidenced by how that thread deteriorated) but I think what he meant when he said "you don't count Sunday...." is that the passage of time from Sunday to Monday, and so on, counts as 1 day, whereas the guys of the opposite viewpoint counted days like you would count numbers (Sunday Day 1 Monday Day 2 Tuesday Day 3 etc....) This isn't wrong of course, but again, Josh thought about this like a passage of time.

All in all, in between all the insults in that thread I can't really fault a guy for starting a workout on any given Sunday and then taking out his calendar, looking ahead 2 weeks and counting 8 workouts because he counted Sunday to Sunday to Sunday as 2 weeks.. It's just a difference of opinion in starting and ending points, and counting.

Maybe that makes me diplomatic, or the new dumbest boy alive, but I honestly can understand both lines of thinking.

Man, I just looked back at that again for entertainment. :-D:-D It's so bad it's good.

I think my post would actually be deleted if I quoted some of it, which is a shame because it's hilarious.

Interesting how each side is convinced they are absolutely correct.

Not too long ago, I had a heated debate/discussion with someone about the use of babyseats in cars. The person I was arguing with was convinced that when it comes to safety, babyseats were not necessary and were a just a pain and burdensome inconvenience. We got into some heated arguments.

My argument? Showing them how the seat could protect the baby, studies done, and also personal (admittedly) anecdotal observations from friends who were doctors and had witnessed the results of babies/toddlers who were not in babyseats vs being in carseats when involved in a car accident.

Their argument? Many of their relatives and friend's kids all didn't use carseats and they ended up fine. Plus they could hold onto the baby/toddler in their arms and they would make sure nothing happened.

This same person also believes:
  1. that if you are just driving within a couple miles of your home it's not dangerous and you don't need to wear a seatbelt.
  2. if you are riding in the back seat of a car you don't need to wear a seatbelt because it is safe there.

Whatever day you start the thing/plan on, you have to count as Day 1.
