Pac 12 championships coming up, who will be there ? I might have to in support of the team and coaches. Stanford Cardinal lock to win it all. Stanford will head to Ojai, California, this coming week to compete in the Pac-12 Championships. The third-seeded Cardinal will face sixth-seeded Arizona on Thursday at 6 p.m. PT. Fear the tree.

I'll be there at least for the finals. UCLA with their 8-0 conference record are the #1 seeds, USC (7-1) are #2, Stanford (4-3) are #3 and California (4-4) are #4. And for the Men it's really the Pac-9 championships as only 9 schools have mens tennis.

For the women Stanford (10-0) are #1 seed with UCLA (8-2) #2, Washington (8-2) #3 and USC (7-3) the 4th seed. For the women it's the Pac-11 championships as only Oregon State does not have womens tennis.

Take that cats, Hero is in the wild. Trojans are next to get run over by the trees.

“Run over?” Hardly. Stanford had to have a “clutch” win at S3 to avoid the upset. Always good to have a challenge early.
I was watching the Trojans and saw the look in their eye. When Genesen won to clinch the win, I saw "Fear" in Trojans eyes. They were very afraid of what they will face in the semis.... Fear the Tree... Fear the Tree

It should be a quality match played by very good collegiate tennis players.

Wow, Cal just beat UCLA in a major upset. Could it be an all NorCal final? We'll know in a few hours.
that was totally unexpected. On the other hand Stanford girls just another routine 4:0 (ok, it was closer than the result would indicate but 4:0 nonetheless)...

Trojans may not even show up. They all had fear in their eyes yesterday when they found out Cardinal won
Well, USC showed up for the doubles, so Stanford has to play really well in singles if they are to advance.

Several first set losses already, not looking good for the Cardinal.

Feddie, did the Standford Cardinals win?
Also, did Axel Geller win or get trounced like a boy playing against a man?

Let’s go Holt!!!
For some odd reason, Holt kind of owns Geller. I am not sure why this is. Holt has no power and he just relies on precision groundies but Geller always tries to overplay the ball or take the ball early and misses into the net. I think it might be a mental thing.

On another note, Alex got CHEATED big time in that tiebreaker. Trojans cheat their way to win.............

YES , they did win. If it wasnt' for that horrible call by Cukierman in the tiebreaker 5-5, alex would have won that tiebreaker and 3rd set. That ball was 1 inch INSIDE the baseline............. I saw that ball all the way. and Stanford Wins, since Kumar was on his way to win his match too.

Great tennis by Genesen,,, We will be Back big time in may, for the NCAA tournament. GO CARD.

USC defeated Cal for the Pac-12 Championships. Since going to the dual match tournament format in 2012 USC has won 4 times and UCLA has won 4 times, no one else has won any. I was impressed by the freshman #1 for Cal, he showed some real flashes of brilliance but also had some of the lapses you might expect from a young player. But with a little maturity he could do some damage in the next year or 2.

on th ebright side Stanford did take 2 points off USC - every other match was 4:0 in USc favor. Plus Stanford women's team defeated USC 4:0, so all together Stanford came out ahead 6:4 :)

Stanford would have beaten the Trojans if the dude at #2 didn't cheat in the 2nd set tiebreaker.

This seems to be the thing to do now. If your team loses, shout out the other team on social media for cheating. Great if it makes you feel better.

Yeah whatever, the score was 4-2. The Ojai tournament has several other events going on besides the Pac-12 Championships. There is M & W Open singles and doubles with pretty good prize money that attracts ATP and WTA pros, juniors, boys high school, community college, independent college and DIII championships. I did not see the call as I had left by then to go watch one of the other events that featured someone I had worked with at another venue after Axel Geller was absolutely humiliated by Brandon Holt in very short time. Since the tournament went to the dual match format in 2012 for the men I have not seen a beat down like that at #1 singles even in the early rounds let alone the semis--I could see Stanford had no chance of winning so there was no reason to stay. And no one, no one, fears a tree...

good chance Stanford plays rd of 16 against WF, @ WF, so god help them if one or two questionable line calls is enough for them to fold

Virginia has the toughest rd of 32 match. I’d say 25% chance SC takes them down before you have to face them.
If either South Carolina or Stanford beats UVa in Charlottesville, it will be historic. Could happen, of course. But UVa is 29-0 in NCAA outdoor tourney matches at home.

we'll see how dubs point goes against SC - i know you UVA fans don't seem to be sweating this SC match that much (looking at SC's conference record, i can understand that peaceful easy feeling) - but if they go up 1-0 and jubb has a good day it could be sweaty palms time in charlottesville

Anything can happen in a doubles point with the new format, but South Carolina's record in doubles this year is not that great. On the other hand, UVa had a mysterious new doubles lineup Friday. Not much experience together.
