so i have pain in my knee i did MRI on the knee the report came with meniscus tear and cyst formation and the first DR said first i need to give myself 2 month strengthening and stretching and see the result

so i went to a second DR who is the best DR in my country that treat knee and do surgeries in that area he that it is not tear its patellofemoral overload and i should start walking and running until i get to 100% of my activity and in the meanwhile i do physiotherapy that i will get more information about today isA

so what do you guys think if there is any expert i have a question does patellofemoral overload can be misdiagnosed as minescus tear

Do you think the first doctor want to make more money than the second one?

I find doctors are always looking for ways to make more money because of debt, divorces, kids on drugs, and etc.

All people want to make more money.
Different country could have different incentives to doctors. If they are not paid by the amount of procedures they perform then the incentive to over treat is different from the US system.

I do wonder about the diagnosis. My experience is that a radiologist would issue a written report and the orthopedics usually just refer to that report to offer a treatment. Not sure whether it is because the orthopedics are too lazy or the MRI is too specialized because the ortheo do read the x rays

When two doctors have different opinions, patients tend to believe the one who says what they were hoping to hear. I'd be skeptical of someone who doubts a meniscus tear when it was seen on the MRI.

no its not about what i want to hear the thing is the better one said its not tear he was the DR of the AL AHLY football club one of the most respected DRs is Egypt

off course i hope it is not tear but there is one thing i was wondering isn't the meniscus to avoid friction between bones so why i never feel any pain in squats

or when i hold heavy items but when i rise my leg in 90 degree angel thats when i feel pain
