Looking for some ideas for a hybrid on a 18 x 20 wilson ps classic 6.1. I am a 4.0 net rusher and string at very low tensions. Was thinking about using 17g strings for extra bite. Any suggestions?

I use 18 ga string in my ROKs. See my sig. However, I've ordered a reel of Signum's Poly Plasma in 1.18 ga. I had 16 ga Sensation in the ROKs off the shelf and didn't like it. I get so much more bite with the 18 gauge. I also have some 19 ga TNT around here that I'm going to try when the polar bears go back home.

I have not had good luck with hybrids unless I put gut in the mains.

What strings are you considering -- poly, non-poly, nat gut, synthetic, mains/crosses? And what do you mean by very low tensions?

A nat gut mains hybrid is almost always great for my game. 17g would certainly work in an 18x20. 18g could be even better -- most likely without a drastic falloff in durability. Depends on your game, of course.

How about klip legend nat gut 18g mains and luxilon timo 18g crosses. I am a net rusher, spending little time at the base line...so I prefer the natural feel to be the dominant characteristic of the stringbed. I usually string tecnifibre biphase 16g at 52lbs. I would like to go a little lower...maybe 50 on the mains, and how much lower for the lux crosses? Thanks!
