Was I too hard on this dude? He sent me an email askin to hit tomorrow. I responded with:

---------------------------------------

Hi there,

Sorry I'll be working most of tomorrow...

But I think you should find someone that's closer to your level. All your strokes lacked much depth, spin, or pace. You said you were 4.0-4.5 but you're actaully no where near it. It seem like much of the time you were just pushing the ball back to me, because you were too afraid to hit it: the serve, the forehand, the backhand, even the volleys. I don't really like enjoy playing pushers.

NTRP rating groups players that can execute certain strokes with little varying differences, only different styles allowed. Even if a lower level player beats a higher level player, it does not bump the lower level player in the ratings. Take a look and good luck.

I hope that the guy has enough self-confidence to know and understand that those who are rude enough to give critiques that are not requested are almost always not worth listening to.

There are many better ways to say what you needed to say. Many.

Everyone who has taken basic statistics knows that you can not make a conclusion with a sample of two.
Thus, I have come to several possibilities:

1. MasterTS has not yet taken Statistics, thus he's like 10 years old.

2. MasterTS has taken statistics, but could not comprehend the basic concepts because of his lack of intelligence

3. MasterTS has taken statistics, understood all the concepts, but still made this stupid, generalizing comment because he's a TROLL and wants to stir up trouble

I think it's 3.

Quoted for the win. You lose TS.

Actually my sample size was not just two.. i had only referenced two examples. My other friend has friends that are pushers as well, and well he agreed with my accessment based on his experience with his friends as well. Anyway, I don't wana get into a racial battle.

I've only ever played one Indian guy and the guy could play. I ended up beating him 4 and 1 (it's somewhere around there) but he definitely had some nice solid groundstrokes and an impressive kick serve. And, he went for winners as often as I did. I think it just depends on the player, regardless of nationality.

Ashibobo lol....what a dope.

What's everyones problem with Ashibobo... The guy was obviously hiding the fact that he was india when he said his name was "ashton". Probably didn't want to give the fact away that he was a pusher through email.

And ashibobo is similar to all the other indian names i've seen.

Look at the resume section of craigslist! About 95% of the posted ads are indians lol:

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/search/res?query=c#

Mahima, Babita, Mohit, Durga, Somesh, Vidisha, Jyoti, Praveen, Kalyan...

Why else would he use a fake name in email to resumes a Ashton Kutcher, a white guy?

Well title says it all.. Some guy posted on craigslist that he wanted a match, and was 4.5 rating. Well I responded and we meet up. Firstly, the name he put on craigslist was "Ashton" so I thought he was a white guy.. Turns out his real name is "ashish" or "ashibobo" or some weird indian thing.. Thats when I knew I was in for a really lame pushing match.

Will I cooked him, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.. I coulda tripled bageld him but isntead I just hit big winners all the time. Prolly hit more then 20 winners in three sets, with a few second serve aces lol.

Anyway no offense, but how come every indian guy i've played is a pusher? I'm starting to not want to play them.

Afterwards, he asked if I played in college LMAO... The guy was no 4.5 for sure.

The funniest thing is, he uses the Federer NCode 90" racquet.. and same thing with another indian guy I played once, who cooincidentally was also a pusher.

=] Well ti's the time to stop making generalizations (is the spelling right? xD) because you may not be travelling much, or it's a GREAT coincidence! =D I know someone that came from India, and he played since he was 8. =O He's very good. I don't know his NTRP but it's also around 4.5-5.0. =] He seriously whooped like five of my school's players (only one in the top 10), by using an AirStick. Now THAT's amazing.

Lol so having a name of Ashton guarantees a good arsenal of shots of different spins and depth and maybe an occassional Air Sampras smash? Dude I really wish one day you can hit with somebody with a very ethnic name(real name at that lol) and beat you so bad you will get pregnant and name your baby Ashibobo.

You think anyone here believes that? We're not all gullible.

- Firstly, you'll have a hard time understanding most these guys.

- Secondly, you'll need to sponsor 80% of these guys for H1b visas.

- Thirdly, 25% of them are probably offshore.

I'm an HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) Specialist, I work with many onshore/offshore IS personnel, from various countries. From reading a few resumes, it doesn't appear any of those guys have an English deficiency. Your Visa/offshore comments come off as somewhat redneck. You realize it's 2007 and the world no longer orbits around the US, right?

It's actually reality. I'm in the computer industry for a long time, and I work with about 12 indian software developers, as well as a full QA indian offshore development team in bangalore. All 12 indians that are here in cali are on h1b visa sponsorship. Craigslist is notorous for recieving resumes for offshore work, why do you think so many businesses post: WE DO NOT Sponsor H1b. I read that over 50% of the relies to craigslist job postings are spam from offshore indian companies try to get contract work. You're obviously not very good at what you do being in HR, or you just don't understand the software industry at all.

Also reading their resume just shows they know how to speak english. You ever have real communications with indians in the work enviorment before? They can have very thick accents that makes it extremely hard to understand. Writing language is different than speaking. Just cause I know how to say "ya punimao pa ruski" in russian doesn't mean a russian will understand a lick I say.

Why? Just cause I don't like playing pushers and have run into more then one pusher of indian decent?

Then I proved you wrong about h1b workers, and the understanding a thick accent has nothign to do with writing good english.
