Playtesting polys

Just wondering what tension I should string the poly hybrids that I will be playtesting.

I will be testing the strings in a head lm radical mp leaded up to about 330s static/sw i.e. dense 18/20 string pattern. Play an aggressive baseline game but will attack short balls and follow to the net. Mostly flat first serve with kick second serve.

The polys I am testing are:

Focus hex 1.18
SP hyperion 1.18
SP poly plasma pure 1.18
Polystar energy 1.20
Cyberflash 1.20

(randomly chosen based on what i've read)

Hybriding with 17g PSGD

I normally play with a full bed of PSGD but I'm looking to get more spin whilst retaining as much comfort/playability as possible (never used poly before). A little power is always nice although I do know that polys are meant to be low powered.

Thinking of doing the mains (poly) at 50lbs and crosses at 52lbs.

Would love to hear all your opinions and other string recommendations!

Thanks in advance!

Also do polys stretch during stringing? I just preweaved 6m of hyperion and the ends came short of the string gripper on both sides by about 10cm :|

Thanks again

You might want to consider the Pro Supex Big Ace and Unique Big Hitter. Those two are very good poly for good price. Also for the cross, I favors Gosen OG Sheep than the PSGD. The PSGD breaks far too easily for me.

string cyber flash a little lower than the others because it is much stiffer IMHO.

Edit: the only one I didn't play is plasma pure

My favorite is Cyber Flash 1.25 strung at 52x50.
Gauge 1.20 is very nice too but I strung it 2lb tighter.
Because of TE I had to give up CF.
Now I am playing with Energy/multi hybrid. Energy is great string as well. I string it 57x59lb. It's softer and more powerful than CF.
If my arm could take it, I would go full Cyber Flash...but I can't :-(

PS I use MP frames (95-98 sq in) with open patterns.
