When I first learned to slice serve, it was the off-speed kind. Most 3.0 players could not return it (return error or ace). But as I've played better players it was read more easily and sometimes returned for a winner. So I've started developing my "power slice" which is definitely hit harder, and does not go as wide, but results in more aces and weak returns. It's safe and strong enough to use for both first and second serves.

I think among ATP/WTA pros, the off-speed slice serve is rarely used as it is probably killed easily by most returners.

So I'm curious among 3.5+ players if you all use power slice, off-speed slice, some mixture of both. Also, if you use the off-speed slice, what tips you might have to make it a more effective serve against better players.

In case anyone needs clarification, the off-speed slice is the kind that P. Morotoglou teaches:

These are some videos explaining the power slice:

Being left handed, this is my primary serve. Hard slider serve into the FH side of the body. When it's going good it's a heat seeking missle that keeps going inside to jam the returner as he tries to step out to obtain space to swing.

That being said, at times attempt a slower slice slice/kick type serve for a second serve. If I get it good it has quartering topspin causing it to bounce out opposite the way it bends in the air. though it's not as consistent as I'd like it to be, and won't always use it in a match.

The off speed slice is still used at the professional level. The difference is, off speed at their level means 150-170 km/h. Pro power slice can go about 190 km/h, up to 220 for some of the bigger serves.

It's all relative.
