Predict Current Slam Totals for Big 3 IF...

G.O.A.T.
Scenario 1:
In 2003, Rod Laver takes over the ATP like Emperor Palpatine and decides to make tennis a single-surface sport.
That gives us 61 on grass from 2003-present!

How would the total slam totals look for the Big 3?

All slams were on GRASS (scenario 1)
Fed: 31 slams (including 3 CYGS)
Nadal: 4 slams (wouldn’t be considered an ATG)
Novak: 7 slams
Bonus: Roddick wins 6 slams! Murray would have 5! Berdych would have one or two! Even Sampras would have come back from retirement in the early-mid 2000s and taken one!

All slams were on CLAY (scenario 2)
61 clay slams. Nadal of course doesn’t get started winning until 2005, but the rest of the tour gets completely dominated.
Nadal 30 slams. 5 years younger than Fed and would have been hampered by injuries
Fed 8 slams. Become’s the permanent “gritty” underdog that the crowd roots for agains the bull(y).
Novak 10 slams! Gives Nadal more trouble than Fed on the dirt.
Ferrer 3 slams! Murray wins 2! Stan wins 4.

All slams were on Plexicushion (scenario 3)
Fed wins 17
Nadal wins 7
Novak wins 18 (basically dogfight between him and Fed for GOAT status. TTW is a bloodbath)
Murray has 4.
Lots of more random winners. Zverev even has 2 by now!

The problem with all these types of threads, besides the fact that posters than can’t predict a match in play think they can predict one in an alternative universe, is that they never take into account that changing playing conditions also means very big changes in how players train.

If all tournaments were in grass then all players would play in grass and train in grass from the very beginning of their careers . That would lead to very different types of players and playing styles. If Nadal had played all his life in grass he would be a very different player today. There is no way of knowing what that would mean in terms of winning or not.

Roddick probably doesn't win 6 because he reaches the 2nd week of RG and gets lost never to be found again.

This thread's nuts. I like it. What happens if they play all slams
on that silly half clay/half grass court that Fedal did an exo on?
Also, what about blue clay, lest we forget......
