Hi guys, anyone knows anything about this Prince pro stock code: TX238P-TK2C/27.5"
The racquet is named Prince EXO3 PRO BLACK, doesn't have anything written on itself, no weight, swingweight, balance, nothing...it is a 100 sq inch headsize, 18x19 string pattern, 27.5 inch long,320 gram weight, if anyone has any information it would be great :)

Prince pro stocks are difficult to nail down. Often the only clues you get from the code are the headsize and length, which you already know. The other bits of info are, from what I've read, engineering code and layup.

These codes aren't documented nearly as well as Head codes.

Most Prince codes are TX###A or P, the following usually refers to layup.
A is for retail. P is for Pro Stock.
The 3 digits refer to the mold.

Example given: TX141P-100 28" CK6A
TX141 - O3 MP mold.
P - pro stock.
100 - headsize
28" - length
CK6A - layup.

Prince puts the mold code on the spare grommet set (and on retail racquets, at least some of them). If you buy a grommet set for an O3 MP the label will read:
ENG. CODE: TX141A

As I wrote above, there are exceptions. The Prince Graphite Classic 100 mold code is TC0-100 or TC0H-100.

Automatix,

If A is retail and P is pro stock, what is B?

Legend
I don't recall a TX###B code. But as I wrote before most doesn't equal all.
The A/P is an assumption based on a comparison of retail frame codes and pro stock codes.
Additionally the layup codes can vary greatly from a simple CT# to CT#-#A.

Keep in mind that prostock or retail the mold is the same.
If you have a TX141P and TX141A, mold wise they are identical.

I just had my first session with this racquet last morning and wow, what a beast, it has some hefty weight and especially swingweight, but man does it plowtrough the ball, zero vibration, unlike modern crap frames this one is awesome, good feel considering 100 sq.in. headsize, just an awesome all around frame, unlike anything I've ever tried, can't wait for further testing....I was scattering winners all over the court today, the ball went exactly where I wanted, and my forehand was on fire...

btw. I tried the SABR return of serve today for the first time, and man it was some great fun, won 4/8 points when I went for it and it left my opponent stunned, so it definetly works on a 5.0. level :)

around 7 pts headlight, but it isn't maneuverable, this thing is a beast frame, huge swingweight, dunno how pros can handle that high swingweights and such a polarized weighting system :)

What is meant with "layup" ?

Automatix

Legend
A really broad term that can mean differences in flex rating, weight placement, etc.
Not really... for example a lot of "weight placement" is paint and lead under the foam handle - nothing to do with layup.
A layup does indeed translate to e.g. a way the racquet flexes etc. but it is not a term referring to the mentioned above.

While composition tells you what kind of material is used, the layup refers to the configuration of sheets and the angles they are bent at.
You achieve certain properties by bending the fiber sheets under specific angles. This is due to the fact that fibers have a certain strength and stiffness only in the direction of their length. The way they are bent and placed on top of each other is what the layup is.

But layup is just a code name for a certain setup of fibers (their placement, bending angles etc.) in the racquet.

Actually, I think it might be a racquet Jelena Jankovic used. From 2008-2010, she used a 27.5" Prince O3 Speedport White Pro (100 sq. inch, 18x19 string pattern). Then in 2011, she used the same racquet but with an EXO3 Black paintjob. So I'm thinking maybe it might be that?
