Anyone played with these racquets, how do they compare?
I'm having hard time choosing and there is no possibility of demo testing first.

Prince Response 97 vs Yonex Vcore Tour 97 (310g)

and

Prince Response 97 vs Yonex Vcore Tour 97 (330g)

and finally

Prince Response 97 vs the original Prince Precision Response 660

_______

I've been playing with the original Prince Precision Response 660 my whole life and never really tried a different racquet. The one I have is getting too old and beat up so I'm looking for an upgrade. Also any serving benefits are welcome along the way.

Unfortunately I can't help you with the Vcore Tour 97 comparisons since I've never tried it myself... but I should be able to give you a hand with regards to the 660 vs Response 97.

Response 660 feels more "buttery" compared to the Response 97. It feels a bit more muted... it feels a bit more muted and I wonder whether that partly has to do with the unique handle. Response 97 definitely feels like a crisp graphite racquet with more pop and power. I felt I could hit heavier groundstrokes with the Response 97 compared to the 660. The 660 also felt more maneuverable but maybe that's all in my head. You can definitely tell the two are have the same lineage.

I've been using the response 97 for about over 2 months now. I really can't give a comparison but for a player's racquet the response 97 is quite user friendly. I posted a feedback response on TW for the racquet but i'll sum up the keys points.

- It is sweet to volley with.
- Has nice pop and spin.
- Very easy to swing
- Stable but not rock solid plowing stable. You shouldn't feel pushed in rallies but returning serve is more noticeable.
- A tad flimsy on the return due to the low swingweight. Needs a bit more beef behind it (but then again mine was 5 grams lighter than listed spec).
I feel it is string sensitive for power and comfort. Stringing at the same tension at 57 pounds between prince duraflex gold 17 and head rip control 17 i could not muster the same free power i did from the prince gold. Serving was not as smooth and comfy with the head rip control (so it sounds like the string is much stiffer overall but the frame itself is in the stiffer side of things so be careful)

I've tried both the VCT98 and the PR97. The VC feels heavier but I feel like I could play well with it. The PR just feels bland to me, and flimsy. But, TW raved about it and some people really love it, so I felt I must try it. I just didn't like the feel of it, even if I did like the weight. It felt like it needed to be a tad stiffer (and I like flexy racquets). I didn't try a poly in it, but I would imagine that would bring it to life, strung around 48-50lbs (either Lux or RPM, maybe even a full bed). I do like the PR head shape better than the VC, since it doesn't feel as gargantuan. (Neither one of these feel as big and cumbersome as the Wilson 6.1 95. Smaller head, but feels larger than either of these - weird. Just sayin)
