Prince Textreme Tour 310 Vs Prince Phantom pro 100P. Need Help!!

Hello all

So my current racquet is a 2015 Babolat Pure Drive team . It was the first racquet i started playing with . Since it was only 285 grams i found it to be too light soon enough and had to add weights at 3 and 9 to make it more playable. The balance was too much towards the head though but i have played with it for nearly two years and now looking to make a switch. I am interested in a more classic , plush racquet something very different to the babolat. The prince phantom 100p has caught my eye. i am only a intermediate player and was wondering if it would too tough to adapt to. Have read some threads in this forum suggesting ppl that That textreme tour 310 is easier to play so am confused which to get. I live in india so its literally impossible to demo . can i go ahead and get this low flex racquet of my dreams the prince phantom pro 100P or will it be easier to play with textreme tour 310

The tour 310 would be more closer to the babolat. In terms of which one is easier to play, I'd say the tour 310. But if you seek something more classic, with a more flexible ball pocketing feel then phantom 100p. Tour 310 offers more power and spin and would probably be the more balanced racquet for mass appeal. The phantom 100p has a pretty high swingweight and low on power.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I don't mind a lower powered control racquet . I feel like the pure drive I hit some good shots which I feel fall inches outside the line . I don't know if it's all technique or if a low powered racquet can help the balls land in more often. Can the TT310 offer more control . Also the RA gap between the two racquets is 59 and 65. Is it noticeable or is the TT 310 almost as comfortable?

Go with TexTour, it would likely have better overall playability (for you and almost everyone). meanwhile, if you want to play with some soft thin-beam racquet, grab any used option in 95-98 head size and explore how you like it. Don't committ switching from a PD to 59RA stick just because we on TT rave on low stiffness :X3:

Have you tried or held the Phantom Pro 100P?

I really enjoy thin beamed rackets, and I've kept my 18-19sh mm Graphite Pro (series) 90 from the mid 80s, but I sold the PP100P as the throat felt way to thin for my taste (16.5mm). If you come from a classic tweener size framed like the PD with its 23 mm throat, that's quite the change in feel. Def a try before buying case.

Yes, i think wanting the exact opposite of a pure drive is too drastic as of now. If still switch to TT 310 i should get more maneuverability and control than my existing racquet

Sadly Demos are very impossible in india. Atleast for common brands like wilson i can swing other players racquets (have swung a pro staff and blade) . I have never seen another person with a Prince. hard to find

Not sure which models are offered in your area. Textreme Tour would be my choice. It is an easy transition from your current racquet. Not saying Phantom is out of your range, but it is a massive change. Prince tour is a well rounded racquet.

So we have an indian version of TW where there are 3 first gen models of Phantom ( 100p, pro and 100) . Also textreme tour 310 and textreme tour 100p .

Am just hoping the tour 310 isn't too powerful either . I want to swing big and doing that with a pure drive it's tough to get the accuracy under control . Hopefully the 310 can offer some control and better flex .

It's still a 100 sq.in open pattern stick. You can tame it with strings though, particularly if you know how to apply good spin - so that proper string choice complements your effort.

I don't think it will be an issue which you can't reign in. Changing strings should be able to make up for any fine tuning needed as far as full swing and control.

I love solinco strings . I mostly use a tour bite or hyper g at 54 . I am hoping I don't have to experiment too much with strings with a new stick and can use the same strings am used to

I have never played the Textreme Tour line of racquets, but I have a new generation Phantom 100p and like it a lot. It has good control and plenty of power for my game. It has also been very arm-friendly even with some full poly string setups. The sweet spot feels massive...like the whole string bed is the sweet spot.

I hear the new version of the 100p is quite a bit of an improvement in stability over the Phantom Pro 100p, but I don't have any experience with the old one.

I have owned and sold both. For context, I currently have Phantom 93p 18x20, PCG-100, and POG 107.

I bought the 100p (first gen) thinking it would be the one for me. I tried but in the end I couldn't gel with it. PCG 100 feel and control were superior to the 100p in my experience. I don't what it was, but that racquet just never felt right.

I bought a used 310 because I wanted to try something with more power. I think this is an excellent racquet. It does everything quite well. It doesn't have the same sublime feel of the PCG 100 but it gives you way more pace and is easier to use. I sold it out of pure vanity. I hate the way it looks and it bugged me to play with it. So I sold it....mistake. Should have stuck with that racquet. It is a keeper.

I have to also chime in and say that the 2020 100P is really a great all around racquet with a nice balance of power and control for a thin beam. It's definitely an upgrade from the original 100P with regards to stability, power and comfort. I don't know much about the Tour series but I can tell you that the comfort with Phantom 100p is going to be alot better if that's a concern. I found the new 100P to have ample amount of power. The tour series will have more power but with the thicker beam the feel and control will not be as good IMO.

The transition from a thick, high-powered, stiff, babolat frame to a prince one, will not be easy. If you love the way your babolat racket feels, then you should consider the beast line first. The phantom, with its thin, box beam, low ra and quite traditional feel could be a risky move.

Also note the feel of a thin box beam on your fingers in the ready position is really nice xD

Sadly in india the 2020 Phantom isn't available.only the first gen . Considering that scenario getting the TT 310 might be the better option for me

I have a love hate relationship with my babolat . It's good but since it was only a team racquet weighing 285 grams..I added tape to the head which made it quite head heavy . Am now looking to transition to a stick which is already heavy in its stock form and performs well . I don't think I want to experiment with tape going further .

Thanks all for your responses. I think am now leaning towards picking the TT 310. hopefully will pull the trigger next week .can't wait to get this all rounder of a stick

Personally I'm more a fan of rounder frames than oval so I tend to gel more with Phantoms than Tours. I like the bigger spin window I guess.
But everyone has their own favourites. The big thing that Prince offers is a more comfortable hitting experience.

Just got the Prince Textreme Tour 100 310 and had a hit with it in the morning

First up it was so hard to procure this racquet. i literally had to check 6-7 places and finally i got it. Prince really needs to put their stuff out there because you guys are making good products. There are pure drives and Blades in every store but i need to go through 6 places to get Prince

Getting to the racquet - Since its 25 grams heavier than Pure Drive team 285 i expected it take some time to adjust and it will but it was so already so easy to use on Day 1 . A complete racquet , i liked the power , spin and control on all my shots. I felt like my first serve had more pop than with my pure drive. Kick serves are gonna take me some time to get right with this racquet. Very comfortable as well, fantastic feel on this one. Due to the weight i could really feel the plow through on some of my shots more. Am so excited to hit with this more. Fantastic racquet and thanks to this forum for recommending me this.

I strung the racquet with Tour bite at 53 pds. (Didnt have many options in that store and tour bite is something am familiar with )

Hello All,

I got a Phantom 100p which I like ,very arm friendly and good control. for my game and opponents the power leel is fine, I love the slice anmd the overheads are the best I got so far in my game. I think that Maneuverability is not that good, but may be is because Im still getting used with it, or already getting too old. Probably both.

I would like to get a Tour as well which one will be a better choice? the 100p or the 100 310 ? Im in an intermediate stage. I care about control but also would like to have more pop specially for serve.

I like to play close to the net and fnishing my points there, and I play single as well doubles which for me is a better game since Im 52 and with some knees injuries.

Thank you for the advice

The tour 100p has such a flat trajectory. Based on what your looking for, imho, the 310 tour is the better way to go. Just have to reign in that power!

I have been playing with the Phantom 100P for about a year and it's definitely a solid offering from Prince. It has good feel, control spin and comfort. The power level is not bad for a thin beam racquet but it gives you nothing for free. I just bought a Phantom 107g to play around with as I really like the 100P but wanted an in between racquet that has just a little more power and easier spin generation. I would recommend looking at the 107G since it would also be a good doubles frame.

Thank you for the reply, here I m not able to buy or try the 107G. I just have the tour line 100p, 310 or 290 or phantom 100p.
