How would you guys summarize the difference between the old (red and yellow and black) ProStaff 6.1 Classic and the current Six.One 95? Difference in power? In feel? In control? In weight/swingweight?

I have played with every incarnation of the 6.1 95 beginning with the Classic. Honestly, I think the current version is the best one in quite some time (although the first black/red BLX was ok). Contrary to the previous post, I have found it extremely solid and very manueverable--it may be slightly lighter but I customize my frames to certain specifics anyway. The parallel drilling helped the stringbed consistency and they finally tweaked the amplifeel feature so it is not so dampened and the immediately preceding model (which I only played with for a short time, continuing instead to stay with the black/red version). For what it is worth, I string mine at 54 lbs. (typically--I may make seasonal or court surface adjustments (for tourneys)) with a full bed of Biophase 18 gauge.

The current version is definitely lighter but that also means that naturally it is less stable.

Though I do still prefer the current over the old.

I find the psc 6.1 has more power, better feel, while the new 6.1 has a more predictable stringbed off centre (more control) and swings easier.
