PS 6.0 95 - What Strings?

I currently have mine strung with Gosen Micro 17. It seems to get the job done. I'll be getting two more PS 6.0 95's later this week along with more string. I intend to string one with Unique Big Hitter 16 with Ektelon Powerplay 16 crosses. I'll probably string the other with with a multi string of some sort. I'll let you know how that goes in a week or so.

I use Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16g at 60 lbs. Seems to work pretty well for me. I've found that really soft strings don't work as well in the PS 6.0 95 for me.

ive been using all ALU so far and it plays just fine. i string it @ 57. i used to use psgd but i broke those pretty fast, thats why i like the more durable string.

Signum Pro Poly Plasma w/ Duraflex crosses played like a champ. Actually, I haven't found a racquet over 11.5 oz that that hybrid doesn't play well in. It sucks in tweeners, that's for sure.

I remember reading that to get "the full 6.0 95 experience" you should really string it at 60 or higher? Do you really lose that much of the racquet's control by stringing looser or is it safe? I know it all depends on a certain player's preference but I'm interested to know how much the racquet's performance differs from 55-58 and 61-64.

I strung up one of my PS 6.0 95's with Big Hitter 16 w/ Ektelon Power Play 16 @62/67lbs. It plays nicely. I almost prefer my full Gosen Micro 17 string job over it. I suppose my poly hybrid will feel better after it loses some tension. Anyway, I like the flexible feel I get from the frame and the poly strings definitely take that feeling away. Perhaps I strung it too high. Oh well...

I string mine up with Prince Polygut mains/Gosen OG Sheep or PSG w/D, both 17 gauge at 62-64 lbs. depending. I love it. In fact I love every Poly I have tried in it.

for me it felt like I had controllable power with ALU at 57, they just felt really dead compared to the syngut w/df. i liked how the syngut played but it just didn't last long, it was really nice to hit with (i strung it at 60).

I strung my PS 6.0 with Unique Big Hitter 17 at both 58 & 56 lbs. (56 play much better feel) I also have try w/ Signum Pro Poly Plasma 17 w/ Duraflex 17at 58/62 but didn't like it that much. Have try full PSG w/Durafex 17 @63, play very good but break too quickly, only last like 2 hours. So, the Big Hitter 17 full set is good for me, probably will lower it more to 55 or 54 lbs. The string will not move at all, that what i like, and I could hit the ball very hard with out having flying to the fences.

Gosen super JC(Jim Courier) 16g was great in my PS 6.0 95 and I've heard that Super JC 17g is even better

and I've tried some poly strings and they get along with my PS. the only string I disliked in my PS was Gosen AK (Ana Kournikova or whatever) or something like that.

Let me ressurrect this thread and put my 'spin' on it. I need a little extra pop from the frame as I'm just starting back up after years off. I'd like to get back to my serve and volley game but right now I'm just stroking to survive. I was thinking about 57 pounds. I'd like a soft string that still has some bite and decent durability. Durability less from play than from storage because I might have to put it back up if I'm shipped overseas soon.

People are asking "what string works best in <whatever> racquet" on these boards everyday. From my experience, I think that what string works best depends SO much more on how the player plays than the racquet, that it makes asking this question pointless.

Ok, let me ask it this way. Who has a PS 6.0 95 strung less than 60 lbs? Does it give any noticeable diffrence gain in power or loss of control? What sting are you using?

I have a PS 6.0 95 that I usually string with Klip Natural Gut or Wilson NXT at around 57 lbs. Before that I used the same string at 62 lbs. I don't notice any difference in control or power; however, I prefer the feel at 57 lbs. The feel of the impact and the percieved dwell time just feel better to me at the lower tension.

For me, I find the PS 6.0 95 plays best when it's strung at 60lbs. or slightly above. When it's too loose it just feels too mushy and I also lose some control. BTW, I use Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16g.
