Pure Storm Tour / GT set up?

To those of you who have owned(own) the Babolat Pure Storm Tour '09 or the Babolat Pure Storm Tour GT '09, what string and tension did you find to work best for you?

BTW: I'll probably start out with a poly (MSV Focus Hex 1.18, Solinco Tour Bite 1.20, or Big Hitter Silver Rough 17g) main and Gosen OG Sheep Micro 1.22 cross

VS Gut mains at 58lbs and SPPP crosses at 52lbs. A great racquet combined with great string setup equals a wonderful hitting experience :).

Regular model (non GT) most full multis at 60 on a lockout machine was good. Poly mains at 48 and multi crosses at 52 was also good.

Have you ever tried poly mains with natural gut crosses? I'm thinking of giving this set up a shot in a Pure Storm or Pure Storm GT. Wondering what tension I should go with.

Thanks.

IMHO, gut crosses are only marginally better than a multi cross. I'm getting ready to try out gut mains with poly crosses soon.

I'm thinking of using the Babolat Hybrid RPM Blast 17 + VS 16, with the poly at 55 pounds for the mains and the gut at 58 pounds on the crosses (on the T-W stringer).

What do you think?

I use a Pure Storm Tour GT and prefer gut mains and poly crosses since the other setup to me is a waste of a good set of gut. Poly crosses go out in about 6 hours for me so I just cut them out and restring it and with natural gut, tension maintenance isn't an issue.

I like a crisper feel to my racquets so I preferred the GT version of the non GT Storm. Both are great racquets basically depends on your preference really.

My setup is VS mains at 58lbs with SPPP crosses at 52 to 53lbs. I might go up or down a few lbs each if the weather dips into late 40s, low 50s.

You will love this setup, Gut mains/poly crosses and in my opinion, the gold standard for a string setup. I get twice the durability compared to a full setup of natural gut and is soft on the arm and offers better control by putting a co-poly in the crosses.

I'm looking forward to trying it.

I'm using Black VS mains and CoFocus 18 crosses at 51/47 in a pre-GT Pure Storm and loving it! My wife enjoys my setup so much she's using this afternoon for a league match instead of her PSLGT.

Those tensions sound low but for some reason they work great. Spin is insanely easy to achieve. Complete comfort. Great precision.

This is the black/bronze Pure Storm from c. 2007. I modded it to something close to a Tour at 12.1oz but 9 pts HL.
