Pure Strike 2017 16x19, anyone string with Multi?

So after a history of tennis elbow I haven't used Babolat since about 2013, since then I've stuck with Prince and a Wilson sixone 95 from the mid 2000's, I purchased the Pure Strike 2017 16x19 after demo-ing it for close to a week and was surprised that it felt more comfortable then my old Pure/Aero drive rackets, so I purchased one (last week) and had it strung with RPM team at 55lbs and after a few days I started getting pain once again in my arm/elbow/wrist so I'm going to take it back to get it restrung with a multi-filament at about 53lbs

Anyone use Multi's with this racket and what's a good setup that's arm friendly-ish, for years and years I've used Wilson NXT on all my rackets, anyone tried this setup?

I use 48lbs with a soft poly (Weiss Cannon Scorpion) and no problem. I have a history of TE.

You could also put some Blu-tak in the handle to absorb vibration. If you have te issue RPM at 55 is asking for trouble. I'd try more like 49lbs.

theres multis and then theres multis. you should have no problem stringing it up w a multi like origin or head velocity. these mimic polys in certain respects (low(er)-powered, strings dont move as much, spinnier) while offering significantly more comfort (in my experience).

downside is that they break more easily and are more trampoliney and less spinny than poly. poly is undefeated in terms of control and spin generation, imo. its also undefeated in creating elbow issues for me.

id string the multi at 55 or so and just see what you think. i can almost guarantee your elbow will like it better.

I string it with XCel at 55 lbs. The main reason is not because I had elbow problems though but rather because poly loses tension way too quickly for how much I play

The VS Tour was probably the better Pure Strike for your elbow issues.

I'm a big fan of Origin for its comfort and tension maintenance at a lower cost than gut. Use 17 over 16 to get more spin and string at 57-58.
Gut/soft poly hybrid is another way to go but I find even poly in the crosses can aggravate my arm with a stiff frame.

My son used NXT in his 16x19 Aero Pro Lite. Turned to fuzz in 10hrs. We moved him to a poly hybrid to provide good performance while maintaining a safety net for possible pain/injury. Multi's will die quicker in a spinny racquet.

There's a group of us searching for that unicorn of comfort, spin, control and longevity. But always with one trade-off or another. So you have to decide where your tolerance at setting your own balance point.

Velocity, Origin, PPC have been brought up. I actually put Velocity in my 97LS which is an 18x16 open pattern. Plays comfortable, lots of control strung a bit higher tension, but no information on longevity as I strung it as a back up racquet that mostly sits in my bag.

I'm currently playing with Cream/OGSM (soft poly/sgut) that seems to be working pretty well. Though I can see I wouldn't mind trying to cross the Cream with a multi.

@ByeByePoly is currently playing on gut/poly, used to play with Babolats, but now with Volkl and crusading the post TE spin and control with comfort. He's got some good feedback on Origin, PPC and soon to be Velocity.

same here. its like my elbow is a wizard that can detect the slightest presence of poly

You have to hide it ... in a Volkl, married with gut ... and a tiny tiny tiny hint of poly inside some cream. If your elbow can still pick it out ... yep, elbow is fubared.

I used Pro Hurricane Tour 17 strung at 50 and it would drop down to maybe 40 and then stable.
I thought Pro Hurricane Tour is a soft ploy. On PS 2017 16x19, It does not cause my TE that I used to have.
