Q for Chris and Troy: 6.1 95s or Super G 10 295 or FST95?

Hi.

I'm considering these two frames to replace my Textreme Tour 95. I am looking for that added power and forgiveness, that the smaller sweet zone on the TT95 doesn't offer me on my OHBH, especially when pressed and on returns.

I really enjoyed both the 6.1 95s and the 6.1 95 16x18 (2014) versions, but left them after buying the RF97A which turned out to be too heavy and stiff over time. I am tempted by the 6.1 95S as TWE sells them at a discount, but iirc, it doesn't offer the same massive sweet zone as its 16x18 brother.

Chris:
Since you customized your 6.1 95S, I was wondering how that played compared to the other frames I listed?
And of those frames, which one(s) do you think would suit me best?

Troy:
Which frame on the market today do you feel is close to the 2014 6.1 95 16x18, but somewhat lighter, both static and SW, offering great plow, big sweet zone, forgiveness and feel in a player's frame? :)

Thanks!

smalahove,

The closest racquets that I have found, on the market today, to the 6.1 95 (16x18) are: Yonex VCORE Duel G 97 (330g), Head Graphene XT Prestige Pro, Volkl Super G 10 Mid 330, and Dunlop BioFibre M2.1.

If you are looking for something somewhat lighter and more forgiving, I think that the Yonex EZONE DR 98, and the Wilson Blade 98 (18x20) or (16x19), are great platform racquets. I have found that all three of these racquets play well in stock form, but play really well with some added weight to them. My personal favorite of these three racquets is the Blade 98 (18x20), with some weight added to it. I currently am contemplating a switch to this racquet, and I have spec'd it up to 12.5 ounces, and a 340 swingweight; with a leather grip on it. You may not need to add as much weight as I have, but even bringing up the weight on any of these three racquets, closer to 12 ounces, will increase the playability of them; closer to what you liked about the 6.1 95.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks, Troy. I've had both the DR98 and Blade 98 on my radar for a while now, but have been hesitant to pull the trigger as I can't demo frames unf. Your suggs are much appreciated :)
