Question on Babolat PC Team Plus MP bumper guard

Are TW's specifications for this racquet with or without the removable bumper guard? Can I replace the grommets and bumper guard with those from the PC? Thanks in advance!

I haven't looked at the specifications,so can't answer that, but the bumper from the pc team works in the pc m/p team.
All the best,
Richard

That was exactly what I was looking and hoping for. I've got a couple of used PC Team MP + racquets, and man do I hate those removable bumper guards! The racquet feels much better without them, albeit a little light. Seems to me that the PC MP + will be a much better racquet with the PC's bumper guards. I'm going to try this out over the weekend.

Thanks, Richard!

Tennis Player,
I just recently bought three PC MP Team Plus's, I demoed the racquet and absolutely loved it. The power level and topspin is incredible, It also volleys very well for an extended legnth racquet and has good feel. I know everyone freaks out about having Babolat & feel in the same sentence, but at 64 flex rating and soft stringbed it has good feel, and currently is the only extended length racquet with a mild flex rating and the woofer---might be along with the storm be the only babolat good for your arm.

anyway, any feedback you have would be welcome as this racquet flew under the radar and is now discontinued. Let me know how the grommets work out

Iscottius, I pretty much bought the racquets (used) on the strength of their specifications. I'm glad to hear your comments... this is precisely what I am expecting from these racquets. I have already ordered a few sets of the PC grommets and bumper guard from TW, and should have them next week. I will post my comments in a week or so.

Tennis player,
Great I look forward to your comments. This racquet will not dissapoint you, I don't know what racquet you are coming off of, (mine was yonex MP tour 5) also very nice. The Babolat has more power, spin and volleys better. I have to play around with Strings & tensions, right know the racquet has alot more power than the tour 5. Let me know what string & Tension u like as well

I dont know why I felt the PC Team MP felt exactly like a PD when I tried it out, a ton of power on serves and groundies. Try the real PC if you want more control.

Already tried the PD+ and PC+. Both are too stiff for me. I tried out the PC MP + today with ground strokes, with the bumper guard on (otherwise it feels too light). It is a powerful racquet - definitely more so than my Yonex RD Power 10 MP. It also felt very comfortable because of its flex. The RD-10 is more of a spinmeister, however.

I think after the bumper/grommets change, and a new string job, the PC MP + will be exactly what I am looking for. With the power it has, I can swing a little more slowly, concentrating more on form and spin production. This what I did today, and just loved the results. I am planning to switch between the PC MP + and the RD-10, based on how I want to play.

I will be trying out some serves tomorrow with the PC MP +.

Iscottius, you are right - the PC MP + is one great racquet. I played two sets with this racquet today, and it was sweet. As far as serves go, I have to give the edge to the RD-10 for flat bombs - but for spin serves, the Babolat is slightly better. Head high kick serves are no problem on hard courts. I give the edge to the MP + also for volleys and overheads, because it's much more maneuverable than the RD-10. Slice backhands are great, on par with the RD-10.

I am not a touchy-feely player, so I can't say anything about the racquet's feel. But I did manage a couple of drop shots, one good, and one decent but not quite good enough for a winner.

Best of all, the MP + is really easy on the arm and shoulder. I will have to grab one more while these are available!
