Questions on Spinfire pro 2

I’ve read dozens of posts now and I haven’t found the answer exactly.. I’m about to pull the trigger on the Spinfire Pro. I think I’d get the Playmate Volley if it was just for me as I can deal with its size/weight. I’m an overbuilt reliable kinda guy…But it’s primarily for my 16y/o daughter and wife. They want easy transport. I want that for them too. So I’ve read many no problem at all using regular balls on the playmate volley. I’ve read lots of mixed info on whether it’s going to cause problems with the Spinfire. If I can get some good experience feedback on that I suppose I can decide to order balls with it or not. Thanks!

What is your question?

Can you use regular tennis balls with the Spinfire? Yes
Can yo use pressureless balls too? Also yes.
Love my spinfire. I have no experience with other machines. But I wouldn't trade this one for anything else

If your question is whether or not you should order the Spinfire with the Spinfire brand balls the answer is "yes" if you can afford them. The Spinfire pressureless balls are arguably one of the best around...they just aren't cheap. But Spinfire works just fine with any other tennis ball brand

I recently bought a used Spinfire 2 and I've gotten regular balls stuck in there quite often. Not sure if there is something wrong with the machine, but it might have something to do with how much pressure is left in the balls. I haven't had that problem with pressureless balls. I'd recommend pressureless balls regardless. No fun hitting dead balls.

Thanks! Yes was considering it. Buy once and cry once. No mater what we will need some new balls. Might as well not pay shipping twice.

Regarding this part of your post....

I have a Spinfire Pro 2, love it. Got it last June and by the ball count I am almost at 30,000 balls with no problem. Every ball is used match balls. I open a can for every match, then keep used balls for ball machine. I toss out/replace oldest balls as my hopper gets too full. I have never had a feed jam after almost 30k.

That said, the unit might be easily portable for you or me, but it is certainly not for my wife. She could lift it in or out of her suv, but it would not be easy for her, nor would she like doing it.

Your post says "They want easy transport.". The 2 of them getting it in/out = OK. Alone- not so good/easy generally speaking.
Now if you are with them all the time, moot point.

Love the machine, has 100% improved my volleys, swing volleys, half volleys, overheads. Very satisfied. But it is not an easy lift for a slighter built person.

Anyone with the Spinfire have the remote fall out of the little storage slot? Went to the court today to find out my remote had fallen somewhere along the way.

I keep my remote where I keep my keys in my tennis bag. Get to the court, keys in, remote out. Leaving court, remote in, keys out.

Have you had it fall out? It seems like an oversight on the design. And a replacement remote is $110...
I've never pulled my Pro2 V2 to the courts with the remote in the 'pocket' on the machine...it's an accident waiting to happen. If you want to use the pocket, get some adhesive hook/loop velcro and stick a piece or two of either hook/loop of the velcro above and below the pocket, then bridge those pieces with the opposite. Just leave the adhesive plastic backing on, on the piece that bridges, you won't have to deal with that sticky side as you remove it.

Agreed 100%. I'll never make that mistake again.
