Hi Guys,

I've been using Wilson BLX and BLX Prostaff six one 90 for 3 years now. Really happy with the performance of it as a one backhand user especially on the volleys. So solid. Only problem is the headsize. Really demanding in foot work. Wanted a bigger headsize that could imitate the exact play and feeling i have with my 90 Wilson racquets? Can you guys give suggestions on it? Any brand would do.

Check out the Wilson Blade 93. I have heard great things with regard to that frame. You are used to Wilson, so that's a plus.

Pro staff 95 ( 16x18 ) with weight in the handle and lead at 3 and 9 will play similar to the 90 in my experience.

Id stay away from babolat offering as I don't think they have anything that feels similar to the 90.

What do you like most about your current stick? Plow through, control, plush feeling, balance, etc? If you start prioritizing what you like most we can make better recommendations.

The logical thought (for me anyway) is to try out the Pro Staff 95 (or 100) and add some lead. You might also consider the 6.1 95s?

If i were to make a demo list i'd try these:

Wilson Blade 98 18x20 - Less stable, has that control, the power when you need it. I liked this stick a lot but it I liked the softer feeling and more hl balance of the prestige.

Head Prestige MP 18x20 - Control, Stable, Feel, it is lacking in the power as the swing weight is too low. Lead at 10 and 2 and some putty in the handle make it play amazing.

Prince response 97 16x20 - Amazing volley stick per reviews, Rafter's stick redone. Need I say more?

Wilson pro staff 95 16x18 - Obvious reasons. I think a lot of people add lead to the hoop as they say its unstable. You could essentially lead it to the same weight and balance of your tour 90.

Regardless of which stick you pick, i don't think any retail stick will feel as stable as your tour 90. You will have to put led somewhere in the hoop and possible putty/slicone/lead in the handle to get the head light balance whippy feel from your tour 90.

Agree that you might want to just try a step-up to the 6.1 95s. Those are always great frames. You might also consider giving the new Prince Graphite 100 a whirl. I have no idea what it plays like, but it is supposed a very classic feeling frame and will likely give you the feel that you are used to.

You sometimes hear people comparing the Prestige Pro to the Pro Staff 90. It has a heavy flexible yet solid frame, with a similar swingweight, a leather grip and an 16x19 pattern.

The Pro Staff 95 is obviously also similar, but requires a lot of modding to play the same. The Babolat Pure Storm Tour also plays similarly to the Pro Staff line in my opinion.

Anything you lose on the 1HBH you will probably gain on the forehand with a larger headsize, and defensive blocks will be easier.

To clarify, I meant 6.1 95's (in general), not the new 6.1 95S (specifically, although it is one to consider).

Thanks guys for the recommendations. I'll be demo-ing all those out :)

I went to the sports shop earlier and they together with my other tennis play buddies recommended me the Head Youtek Graphene Speed Pro. Is this good?

Of course it's good, to my mind one of the best lighter frames if I ever wanted to switch from my (heavier by almost 20g) Wilson Six.One 95 Amplifeel.

Very stable for its weight and control oriented/head light. I prefer it to say APD.

Yep I know it's good but what I meant is if it's a nice replacement for my BLX Prostaff 90?

Honestly, I doubt that you'll find it similar. Whether you like it is an entirely different matter. I demoed it when I was switching from my 6.1 and liked it a lot, but ultimately I thought the string pattern was too tight for my liking. Give it a try. It may be exactly what you're looking for.

Ohhh for the new 6.1 95, what's the best of the 3? And also the string pattern.

For the ones just released? Read the TW reviews Sir.

But it may well be these are the best BLX models...

I don't have the new one, since about a month ago I had ordered my 4th, BLX Amplifeel one, 16X18 (increasing my grip size).
I do prefer that one to the first BLX, lower swing weight and in general kinda swings better, more dampening, but less power.

My self I use open patterns, just b/c I want to prevent the balls from sailing long with my full bed natural gut.

Probably the Six.One 95 16x18. Not to be mistaken with the ProStaff version. It's pretty hefty but the headlight balance is very different to the ProStaff 90.
